Pirates make standard pretty much unplayable for me right now. It's not "fun or interactive." If I don't draw perfectly, I'm dead by turn 4 or 5, and yes, my dragon priest includes techs to beat aggro.
I think you are confusing "Mana Efficiency" (spending all your mana each turn) with "Curvestone" (playing the strongest possible minion on curve). Secret Paladin was an example of a "Curvestone" deck. Bots played it to legend.
If literally 80% of your matchups are against aggro warrior and you are experimenting with slow decks... well, that pretty dumb of you to expect to win or have fun (I take it losing by turn 5-6 is not fun). Tech anti aggro anti-weapon deck and farm the wins. Why can't "creative" mean beating the meta that is beating you?

I got 14 in 170 packs. I, too, found it to be a higher drop rate than in previous expansions, about 50% higher.

Next expansion: Nero, 6/4, 6 mana, Battlecry: If your deck contains no duplicates, set your hero's health to 30.

I'm having a blast with the new expansion. First time I've had fun in standard since shaman meta got stale.
