Psy_Kik posted a message on TotalBiscuit on Hearthstone as an EsportsPosted in: Players and Teams DiscussionWhy do people say things like this? Like, where does the 20 to 30 percent figure even come from? You pull it out your arse, that's what. It doesn't make any sense, nor does it make you sound clever. If by skill you mean knowledge of the game then what you actually mean is the game is near totally dependent on skill but once players reach a certain level of game understanding luck is often the deciding factor in matches. Proof? Give someone who doesn't know how to play or understand any of the games concepts (I.e. a brand new player) a tier 1 deck he will lose game after game after game. -

Dark Pact: Destroy a Demon instead of a minion.
Doomguard: Make the charge part of the battlecry.
Spitefull Summoner: Add the minion to your hand instead of actualy summoning it.
Naga Sea Witch, only effects the card you draw.

genericuser1 posted a message on I'm not sorry to see Brode and Chu goPosted in: General DiscussionI'm sorry to say this, but if you really think Odd Paladin is the only deck that is seeing play/succes on ladder, you know nothing about this game.
Also Ben Brode isn't responsible for game balancing or card creation, so you're just being a dick basically.

OldsFirenza posted a message on Hearthside Chat: Monster Hunt - Releases at 10 AM PDT on April 26Posted in: NewsI had some concerns that this would be a low-effort rehash of Dungeon Run with less classes, but this is shaping up to potentially be even better. Having even more unique encounters for fewer classes should mean that there's more replayability for each class. I'm also curious if the Final Challenge is another full 8 battles or just the 4-on-1 battle against Hagatha. Either way, I really like that they're telling a story here, similar to earlier adventures, but with the improved gameplay of Dungeon Run. This looks to be a first-rate single-player experience, and I don't mind the strategic delay any more. Streamers like Krip have delved far deeper into constructed than they usually would, and the first two weeks are the best time for this (independent of the current overrun of Paladin and Warlock).

Potentially amazing if echo cards are good.
I could see this and questing adventurer in the same deck if echo is good enough.

Damaging your own minions in a deck that is going to be running lots of minions seems not so great.
I can't really tell how good this will be until we see the new shaman spells.

Shaman spells are currently too weak to make this good.
10/10 art, will craft golden versions regardless.

Get good.
Dungeon run is too easy.

I guess the best case is to cube this guy in a deck with at least 3 eight drops in it.

I got 4 deathknights in my first 12 packs. I am more than OK with this.

Why are we assuming people need every legendary? Why are we not factoring in all the quest and win gold? Why are we calculating based on a terrible legendary rate? Why are we not calculating dust and how much can be crafted from duplicates?
This seems like an absurdly off base calculation of costs, considering I have most cards and have spent nowhere near the amount suggested.
