You aren't playing a control deck. Youre playing a shit deck.

^Said it all. You cant consistently beat a decent deck with a fun deck. Aggro mage is real strong right now, imo.

So what I want to know is this: Aggro players, I want to know your perspective on the decks that you play and why you play them? Why are the fun in your opinion? What are your opinions on control decks and other deck styles? I promise I'm not hating, I just want to try and understand a different perspective.

Aggro decks are the best (for me) Because they're the most interactive. Its like playing a tough chess match, and try to outvalue your oponent. Every 1 damage dealt to face matters. you're automatically unfavored when they heal/taunt/armor up. it is always satisfying to win before they do their greedy combo. Sadly, blizzards seems inclined to keep control and combo going strong (emphasis on combo), wich (again, in MY OPINION)  makes the game less interactive. If you got combo you win, if you control an aggro player and he cant kill you before turn 10 you win. My question for you is: What is the fun on simply destroying your opponent if you did draw 4 certain cards in the correct time?

Aggro and midrange will always be my favs, because of this. They arent brainless, and the "skill ceiling" is certainly higher than drawing combo.

Ill compromise with you on the fact that combo decks are sort of uninteractive, I mean draw draw draw and play the combo, sure. But control decks, imo, are far more interactive. You said that if an aggro player can't kill a control deck before turn 10 they typically lose which is true, but I think this is actually the problem. Aggro decks try and pressure the opponent and kill them before turn 10, which imo is not interactive. You're not interacting with any of the opponents minions they play on board (value trade from time to time but you know what I mean) you're just throwing minions/spells at face. With control, you combo certain cards with each other to counter plays, create tempo swings, and can cleverly outplay your opponent. I feel like control is the chess match with having to critically think about your line of plays, your opponents plays, and future consequences of those plays. Ive had some fun with midrange however, I will say. Thankyou for your opinion!

Idgaf whether I'm playing a shit deck or not. Its not like I'm just playing control mage, I play a deck for a couple weeks, maybe a month or two if I really like it and then I try something new, I could care less about whether the deck I'm playing is in tier 1 or tier 746 I just  like switching it up because its fun to try new combos and cards imo. Please don't waste time with comments like this

posted a message on Aggro vs Control

Alright guys I'm gonna start off by saying that I am 100% not salty so please do not refer me to the salt thread. Alright, so I just ended a match vs a tempo mage, I was control mage, I had a sh*t draw so all of my cards were 5+ mana in my starting hand. The opponent goes coin sorcerers apprentice. I pass. Turn 2 Opponent plays 2nd sorcerers apprentice. I ping one down to 1 health and pass. Turn 3 opponent plays luna into glyph  into arcane into arcane. This absolute God of a card drawer continues this with turn 4 playing *card that does 5 damage randomly split* (I forgot the name) for 1 mana into the 2nd one and so on. Until turn 5 I finally get to play hearthstone and play my first card of the game which was arcane tyrant on tempo, lol. The opponent had lethal on board, I conceded. I wasn't even mad, honestly, the only reason I came here was to try and learn to understand a couple things. First, I have always enjoyed playing either control or combo decks. aggro decks bore me and this is why: When I play aggro, every turn I see one obvious play that deals X amount of damage either to a big minion or the opponents face, every turn I just feel like i'm just playing any card that can fit into my mana supply, not thinking about my opponents plays, their deck, etc. I just press and click press and click. BY THE WAY I do not mean to offend any main-aggro players, this is just my opinion and my experience. But in general, when I am playing aggro I feel like their is no creativity or interaction or really any hearthstone being played at all. The joy that hearthstone gives me is when I successfully play around my opponent or I end up doing a crazy sort of combos and techs with different cards I put in my deck. So When I play control I have to think of what my opponent has played and therefore might still have in his deck or hand and I have to think about each route of play on each turn and where that will put me later in the game. For me, its just a lot more fun. So what I want to know is this: Aggro players, I want to know your perspective on the decks that you play and why you play them? Why are the fun in your opinion? What are your opinions on control decks and other deck styles? I promise I'm not hating, I just want to try and understand a different perspective.

@logical_troll I will agree with you in the fact that priest is probably the worst class rn, but damn son, you posted this thread for the community’s opinions and then when they tell you there’s you just act like a tool and are rude to them. So first, grow the f**k up, and second, shut the f**k up.

Ya I play mostly mage, rogue, and warlock. Though I do play hunter, and Druid a bit too. I almost never play shaman or warrior unless there is a specific deck I wanna try out. I forgot to list some legendaries above too, I also have Baku and azalina and I just crafted Malygos to start trying some maly Druid. Still on the fence of what else to craft though. Thank you all for yalls replies!

Hey guys, so I have some extra dust laying around and I know the meta hasn’t really settled all that much but I wanna ask you all what legendaries are worth crafting?

When I say worth crafting I don’t just mean competitive, i’m also looking for some memes. So what are y’alls suggestions on good or “bad”(fun)  legendaries you all have either had loads of success or loads of fun with. I’m not going to list all of my legendaries but I’ll list some relevant ones in my collection:

    floop                  Myra’s element       Valeera DK

    floops goop       Electra        Whizbang     Zilliax

    malfurion DK      LICH king     Toggwaggle

    Stargazer Luna    Alextrazsa

    Aluneth

    Lunas galaxy

    sindragosa

    dragoncaller alanna

    Jaina DK

So what do you all think? This is like the first time in history where I’ve had extra dust that I had no idea what to do with, thanks i’m advance

The card looks good, but i don't know if its going to be enough. You can copy really shitty things with this. Will see

The way I see myself using this card isn't really about the spell I copy, it's more about the reduction of the cost to (0). This way it synergizes insaneley well with Antonidas and it's just a bonus if you end up copying a good spell.

Lorewalker Cho for sure, he's made some of the craziest games I've ever played. Also you couldn't go wrong with the Mayor. He also makes for some pretty fun and interesting games.

People will never realize that. Bitching about strong cards and decks - it's what this forum for.

Personally I like that aggro decks rule the meta over again, last Aggro Shaman nerfs (Rockbitter and Tuskarr Totemic - completely undeserved!) made me so sad back in days, and now, luckily, Aggro Shaman is good again.

Contrary to popular on this forum belief, aggro decks require a lot of playing skill. Another advantage of them is that you need to spend much lower amount of time to get to Legend every season. Until ladder system is not fixed - aggro decks will remain smart choice of all competitive players. What's the reason to waste your time trying to outcontrol your Rank 10 opponent instead of smorcing him in 5 turns and continue your climb?

But there are some things in the meta I don't like. Another my favorite game style is combo, and since Worgen Warrior was nerfed and Malygos decks become unplayable there are no combo decks in HS left. Seems like removing combo decks is design goal of Ben Brode's team.

Second issue in the meta is the lack of diversity. Some cards of the new set were so strong that you can't allow don't play them. It drastically reduced deckbuilding options and meta diversity as a consequence.

Overall, I don't like any nerfs and changes. Even strongest decks are not invincible.

Because smorcing someone in 5 turns is super boring and repetitive?  every game is literally the same with same strategies, same moves, same smorc. Yes, it is quick games but it is quick to get boring too.
You also have to keep in mind this game encourages being boring and repetitive. Unless you've been playing for years you probably don't have all the cards, so if you're only going to have 1 deck to play it should probably be a top tier one. If you craft and dust you pay 4X more to craft as you get back. Why would anybody want to take the risk of trying something new when it's punished so hard? Unless they make it a lot easier to get legendaries (yeah.. right), most people will just netdeck something they know will work.
I only have 2 viable decks to play, and one of those is aggro shaman.
Your life must be really boring.

People are mostly bitching about Pirates, and losing the game on the first turn - the game might last until turn six or seven, but it was lost before the Pirate opponent had a chance to play a card.

If your deck can't play a card before turn 6 maybe there is something wrong with your deck
Re-read the post before offering snarky comments. The point was perfectly clear.
Players routinely lose games against Pirate decks before they play a card, because nothing they can do allows them to recover from the degenerate opening of 1/3 weapon, 1/1 charger, 3/2 and 1/1 pirate, or some combination thereof. The opponent will play plenty of cards before turn six, and lose the game regardless, owing to the Pirate opening on turn one. Hence, "losing the game before playing a single card."
You only lose before playing a card if your deck is so damn greedy you can't fend off any early game stuff. Or if you try to play greedy like try to wait for turn 7 to do your brann kazakus combo when you should be throwing brann out on turn 3 to put something on the board.
Reno mage is slightly favored/even vs aggro shaman. If you're constantly losing before playing a single card then you're not doing it right.
I've actually never had a game where my opponent never played a single card. There's a few games where they played exactly 1 card before i killed them on turn 4, but even those are pretty rare.
He even explained his point, which was a valid one, again and you still didn't understand it. You are truly an aggro player.

I feel like pirates are sort of the scape goat in a sense because if someone loses to a PW or an aggro shaman or any deck running the pirate package, then they just say it's because of the pirates. Now don't get me wrong the pirate package is a problem but once everybody started complaining about pirates, the became the thing to bitch about if someone was heated about losing
