Alright guys I'm gonna start off by saying that I am 100% not salty so please do not refer me to the salt thread. Alright, so I just ended a match vs a tempo mage, I was control mage, I had a sh*t draw so all of my cards were 5+ mana in my starting hand. The opponent goes coin sorcerers apprentice. I pass. Turn 2 Opponent plays 2nd sorcerers apprentice. I ping one down to 1 health and pass. Turn 3 opponent plays luna into glyph into arcane into arcane. This absolute God of a card drawer continues this with turn 4 playing *card that does 5 damage randomly split* (I forgot the name) for 1 mana into the 2nd one and so on. Until turn 5 I finally get to play hearthstone and play my first card of the game which was arcane tyrant on tempo, lol. The opponent had lethal on board, I conceded. I wasn't even mad, honestly, the only reason I came here was to try and learn to understand a couple things. First, I have always enjoyed playing either control or combo decks. aggro decks bore me and this is why: When I play aggro, every turn I see one obvious play that deals X amount of damage either to a big minion or the opponents face, every turn I just feel like i'm just playing any card that can fit into my mana supply, not thinking about my opponents plays, their deck, etc. I just press and click press and click. BY THE WAY I do not mean to offend any main-aggro players, this is just my opinion and my experience. But in general, when I am playing aggro I feel like their is no creativity or interaction or really any hearthstone being played at all. The joy that hearthstone gives me is when I successfully play around my opponent or I end up doing a crazy sort of combos and techs with different cards I put in my deck. So When I play control I have to think of what my opponent has played and therefore might still have in his deck or hand and I have to think about each route of play on each turn and where that will put me later in the game. For me, its just a lot more fun. So what I want to know is this: Aggro players, I want to know your perspective on the decks that you play and why you play them? Why are the fun in your opinion? What are your opinions on control decks and other deck styles? I promise I'm not hating, I just want to try and understand a different perspective.
I play Control Mage alot and I agree with the above comments; it's not a good deck right now. You might wanna try Big Hand Mage, it's also a fun Mage deck but it's a lot more pro-active.

Aggro decks are the best (for me) Because they're the most interactive. Its like playing a tough chess match, and try to outvalue your oponent. Every 1 damage dealt to face matters. you're automatically unfavored when they heal/taunt/armor up. it is always satisfying to win before they do their greedy combo. Sadly, blizzards seems inclined to keep control and combo going strong (emphasis on combo), wich (again, in MY OPINION) makes the game less interactive. If you got combo you win, if you control an aggro player and he cant kill you before turn 10 you win. My question for you is: What is the fun on simply destroying your opponent if you did draw 4 certain cards in the correct time?
Aggro and midrange will always be my favs, because of this. They arent brainless, and the "skill ceiling" is certainly higher than drawing combo.
There are different play styles for different people. Some people enjoy clearing the board with powerful AOE spells and winning in fatigue, some people like drawing their entire deck and finishing off their opponent in one turn, and some like utilizing as much mana as possible to beat down their opponent quickly.
You aren't playing a control deck. Youre playing a shit deck.
Idgaf whether I'm playing a shit deck or not. Its not like I'm just playing control mage, I play a deck for a couple weeks, maybe a month or two if I really like it and then I try something new, I could care less about whether the deck I'm playing is in tier 1 or tier 746 I just like switching it up because its fun to try new combos and cards imo. Please don't waste time with comments like this

Ill compromise with you on the fact that combo decks are sort of uninteractive, I mean draw draw draw and play the combo, sure. But control decks, imo, are far more interactive. You said that if an aggro player can't kill a control deck before turn 10 they typically lose which is true, but I think this is actually the problem. Aggro decks try and pressure the opponent and kill them before turn 10, which imo is not interactive. You're not interacting with any of the opponents minions they play on board (value trade from time to time but you know what I mean) you're just throwing minions/spells at face. With control, you combo certain cards with each other to counter plays, create tempo swings, and can cleverly outplay your opponent. I feel like control is the chess match with having to critically think about your line of plays, your opponents plays, and future consequences of those plays. Ive had some fun with midrange however, I will say. Thankyou for your opinion!

This is all that aggro is. Sure there are the games where your opponent draws the nuts or you draw the nuts, but most of the time it's about knowing how far to extend against a certain deck in order to not get punished. Aggro is a lot more focused on paying attention to what the enemy does. If they have a board that is weak to defile, yet the opponent doesn't play it, either they are getting baited to further extend into defile or it's a sign that they can go wide since nothing is going to punish them. Sure aggro doesn't always have to play like this, like if the enemy deck is another aggressive deck or just one that doesn't commit to the board much, but saying "aggro doesn't take skill or thought or anything like that" is simply wrong. If anything, it takes more skill to play aggro than it does control. Most of the time in control v aggro mirrors it all boils down to whether the control player draws into removal or not.

I don't have something witty about this deck, I just like it because Malygos is fun.

I have a question to you, why would you play control mage ? You loose to everything, aggro combo decks and prob control aswell.
The thing with control is that its useless, only control that works is warlock cus it have good defensive cards and you can beat combo with it.
I play control mage because its a fun deck to play IMO, I don't just play the "best" deck
You aren't playing a control deck. Youre playing a shit deck.

^Said it all. You cant consistently beat a decent deck with a fun deck. Aggro mage is real strong right now, imo.
