posted a message on Who's Enjoying the new Meta?

Well the game is too swingy for me atm. Decks pull out insane stuff that instantly transforms a winnable game into an unwinnable one.

there is too little focus on strategy, tempo and board control and too much power put into certain draws which allows a player to disregard anything the opponent has build up.

Priest stealing your win conditions (best feeling is beating them anyway, looking at the noob legend who lost after playing 3 zephrys). Extreme cheating (druid) and bonkers powerplays (paladin, but at least losing to them doesn’t feel as bad)

What rock do you live under. Priest is tier 1 right now in grandmasters too.

and priest was tier 1 / best deck during the entire saviours of uldum expansion.

posted a message on Zephrys missed lethal - Ysera

I just played a game of Highlander Hunter vs Quest druid.

At one point Zephrys could have offered me lethal but didn’t.

situation was him at 30, i have a ysera, rat and lynx on board (no taunts). Round before ysera gave me the 5/5 buff.

So i hit him for 11 with rat, 1 with lynx, 4 with ysera, kill command for 5 leaving him 9.
Then I play Zephrys expecting windfury (5 mana left) as it would be lethal with rat.

but I was offered si:7, swipe and pyroblast.

I maybe should have put myself at less mana but can’t remember if it was possible, but Zeprhys is designed to value lethal above anything so 2 mana windfury should have been the offer.

My guess is it maybe didn’t recognize the ysera buff while evaluating windfury.

Why do people in this/these threads keep saying “only viable deck the last few expansions”?

I mean leave the discussion if you are a liar.
Combo priest was nr. 1 deck in the pure SOU meta from day 1. Quest shaman and druid was strong but a priest deck was the strongest. This was also allover in grandmasters.

Doom in the tomb saw the rise of shaman to the top but priest was still strong with n’zoth.

so in short the last time priest was strong.. was the day before DoD dropped. Literally less than 40 days ago.

I don’t know when it was strong before SOU but it was indisputably very strong very recently so no it does not deserve ress priest due to lack of power recently

Lol the idiot calling OP cringe. It was a nicely worded thread. Yes he complains but he uses arguments and valid ones at that. Nobody asked for a troll.

I second the unfun part. Powerful deathrattles combined with resurrection AND reborn is cancerous gameplay. Either stop the deathrattles or the reborn effect as some deathrattles are just too powerful to get off that many copies of.

it is too hard winning on board against a horde of infiltrators. Winning on board should always be viable with counters such as twisting nether, brawl, consecration, plague of death, frost nova. But nothing sticks while infiltrators swarm the board with reborn while waterbearers heal the priest and Muerte replenishes broken deathrattles non stop

posted a message on Sick and tired of Leeroy shenanigans

I feel for you OP. I don’t agree and I do play leeroy myself but I definitely understand you.

I don’t think leeroy is unfun to play against and there are some counters. Hunter would deal with it using freeze trap, explosive trap (doesn’t work if he is galakrond buffed), misdirection or snipe. Mage can do it with vaporize. I think paladin has a secret counter too. And then of course there is taunts.

But for sure leeroy is everywhere right now and not all decks have good counters and I can understand how some may find it aggravating. So I wish you all the best but would personally change other more inherently toxic things

posted a message on Quest Priest is a problem - here's why

@MordregOG: You have some very good insights.

I did not know people actually enjoyed dr boom mirrors, they did look exceptionally boring to me.

But of course we each have our own understanding of toxic. That is why I state mine when I discuss it so that people can judge for themselves how it links to my argumentation.

In here i argued that the style where priest does not actively play the game for a significant number of turns can be perceived as bad gameplay and indeed I think it is.

It just doesn’t feel good playing your hand knowing that if you hit the priest he heals and if you wait he will draw answers. I don’t think that is how a good fun game should work. Games should be fun and winnable by both players.

e.g playing highlander hunter vs combo priest was fun. The match up was swingy but both players were able to draw well and make plays and winrate was pretty even. That is good and fun.

I don’t hate priest in general. But I do hate this deck and when n’zoth was in standard. Combo priest was cool and I really enjoy the few times I encounter it still.

I would like the game to be a bit more centered on board and curve and less on combos/mana cheating. I think that also improves skill and reduces the amount of game lost solely to the match up. But maybe people just enjoy getting their combos off and the flashiness of it too much for blizzard to go away from it

posted a message on Quest Priest is a problem - here's why

@Hooghout: this version of priest really doesn’t take much skill. You rely on a very simple gameplan with very few minions. I haven’t played it but I am sure even I could win some games with it and I only played a lot of Hunter
