I’m a huge fan of shaman historically, but this pretty well articulates what it feels like to be a shaman player lately.

posted a message on New Mage Legendary Card Revealed - Tae'thelan Bloodwatcher

I recall older cards with similar effects working as I previously mentioned, and the card itself doesn’t specify this, so I disagree. The effect itself is pretty clear on the second line you posted, but it doesn’t support the idea that it will not increase cost either. I suppose it will be seen once we’re seeing it in action or we get clarification.

Small point of note: this card will also make 0 mana cards that didn’t start in your deck, such as the coin, cost 1 instead. That’s not a huge issue with the card, but I can definitely picture playing against someone who plays this first and then tries coining into a more expensive spell.

I would assume they’re talking about playing this down in the same turn as you play the spells, with the minimum mana cost of 1 per spell you play

I sorta want to see a card with that effect, maybe a location or something that can just make minions disappear would be pretty neat too.

posted a message on Control priest is garbage, LOL....

I enjoy control priest currently. It’s definitely difficult against certain matchups, Warrior most of all. I’m Warrior is a in a better spot though, so I’m not too upset by that matchup. I still run 2x Dirty Rat to try countering Odyn. Other than that, I run ETC for tech with Steamcleaner, Stereo Stomper, and Shadow Word: Kill all the big bois.

Sorta gives worse Mozaki energy tbh. You are casting draw and damage spells either way in these sorts of decks, but Mozaki could come down a turn earlier and had 2 more health. The only benefit this card has an advantage is that you can cast your spells first and then play it out. But then you’re having to manage resources more carefully to ensure you’re not out of burn by the time she comes down.

The hate you’re getting cracks me up. You’re not saying anything toxic or untrue. Its just an unintended consequence of the change, and it’s a perfectly valid method of winning. Still, I hate Patchwerk about as much as I hated Tickatus, so I don’t love that it’s going to be a valid strat against other control/greed decks.

Did the 2 damage to face really matter much though? It’s primarily used in Overheal or control decks, and honestly Overheal is too weak an archetype anyways for it to be relevant there. Control doesn’t really care about face damage, but they can appreciate shaving off a mana from it. So, it’s really only a buff. It’s disingenuous to call it a nerf.

posted a message on The longer they ignore it the bigger the problem will get

    @Kathranis

”That said, it does kinda bug me how often the game now revolves around playing cards that you didn't actually put in your deck. That and how many decks revolve around cheating out big minions and spells.”

I don’t think being able to cheat big minions is an inherently broken mechanic, so long as the decks that focus on that strategy aren’t able to do too many things effectively. I really enjoy decks like From De Other Side in Shaman, but Shaman loses the early game pretty hard a lot of times and so it’s easy for opponents to just go underneath you or for control decks to keep your minions in check. It’s when decks become so rounded that they’re able to have a good early game and go late that it can be frustrating.

Regis seems to think it’s powerful, so I’m open to being wrong about this as well. I would love for Outcast Demon Hunter to be viable

Not that interesting, and I don’t think it’s going to make outcast demon Hunter much better. Resource generation isn’t the problem with the deck in my experience, it’s being able to reliably close out the game. It’s current toolset just isn’t getting there, but we’ll see after rotation

posted a message on Patchnotes: Third Time's the Charm - Wait Nope, Still Just An Announcement of an Announcement

Seems fairly obvious the boneguard lieutenant and Battlefield Necromancer buff is bringing the token up to a 2/2. It’s an easy buff that effects both targets, so it’s less work.

posted a message on New Priest Rare Card Revealed - Shadow Word: Undeath

I think I’d just rather continue running Clean the Scene in my control Priest. This doesn’t favor well against the high health minions of token Druid. The staggered effect is nice against Deathrattles, but it often won’t be enough to clear the board against stickier targets.
