posted a message on New Mage Rare Card Revealed - Iceblood Tower

Technically Arcane Overflow is scripted so that it targets only enemy minions. But otherwise, I agree. It’s costed way too much without having any worthwhile payoffs that we know of. The best case scenario would be cheating this out early with Clumsy Courier, but what a weak play that would be. You’d def need to be ahead or have access to good catch up tools. A giant spell that gains you armor + another powerful effect would be ideal.

Why run only one persistent peddler though? The value of that card only comes from running both together, otherwise you should just use a better draw/tradeable card.

Everyone here is arguing about trans rights, but I think this is the real issue in this post. I skipped past that bit and had to go back. That’s a bad look, Blizzard.

posted a message on New balance changes are just..... wow. Are they gonna fix something?

Yeah, honestly, I’ve mostly been playing Fel Demon Hunter which has decent matchups against a good portion of the meta, including Warlock in most of its forms. The only deck that feels impossibly bad to play against every time is quest Mage. There’s no counter play, no ability to race them down, and it’s basically an auto loss every time. It’s just an absurdly unbalanced archetype

posted a message on Demon Hunter but not Monk / Death Knight?

I wouldn’t say demon Hunter stole their identity in that respect. Their demons tend to differ in their effects and purpose. Warlock demons tend to be more value oriented and have self damage synergies while Demon Hunter’s are more aggressive and are more synergistic with faster, attack oriented strategies.

My only hangup with this card is that shuffling the bleeds into your own deck sorta gives the imagery that you’re the one that’s bleeding. While it lacks the synergy with shuffle mechanics, it sorta seems better fantasy wise if they were shuffled into the opponent’s deck.

I appreciate The Princess Bride reference. The card itself has an interesting and decent effect. I just don’t know what deck wants it.

posted a message on Custom Class Competition #8 -- Discussion Thread | Week One

I’m cutting it pretty close here on getting my submission in for this competition, as it took me some time to figure out the intricacies of creating cards and getting them posted in this. I sorta still have a few things to figure out as well, primarily on how to set custom card borders. That said, I elected to use the neutral border on my cards for now, and will set a custom border on the rest of my cards once I have the time to sort that out. For now though, I want to introduce my first custom class submission, The Villager. The common people of Azeroth don’t excel in combat or magic, but that doesn’t mean that you should count them out when it comes to competition. Through hard work and devotion, they’ve mastered cooperation and an ingenious use of their resources to achieve powerful synergies, sturdy minions, and unique effects built around their professions. Their hero power, It Takes a Village, exemplifies their reliance on teamwork and available resources to survive by summoning Farmhands who will supply you with a Wheat card upon death. Wheat has the unique ability to raise your hero’s health past the normal 30 Health limit.

Sounds like you just need to play around Hysteria better.

Honestly, Trampling Rhino isn't even that busted in its vanilla 5/5 form. It's the card that allows you to discover it and buff all copies that is more the problem, I'd think. It needs the stat buff lowered, and I think it'll bring it within range of a reasonable power level.

IMO no, most them would then just be RNG versions of the pre-nerf watchposts. I loved the watchposts, they were viable defensive tool for mid-range. But I guess enough peoplen't as they nerfed them to be unplayable like the caravans.

Not exactly. Soldiers Caravan is very straightforward, but also potentially would be the most problematic given Paladins power level currently. Soothsayer's Caravan would be the only one I'd consider to be RNG oriented, but considering it's got no real board impact without buffs, it's nothing more than a low impact value engine you could easily ignore if you chose to. The rest are pretty much the same amount of RNG as anything that affects cards you've chosen to put in your deck. So, pretty controlled rng then.

Just as an idea that came to mind, with regards to the potential buffs that Iksar has been mentioning, should all the caravans be buffed to 4-health? As they are, they're all underperforming and really don't see any play. At least, I've not come across on ladder yet. If their effects were changed to "end-of- turn" mechanics, it'd both be off flavor and risking being too good. So, upping their health could give them the longevity to enable their respective archetypes.

I guarantee most players who want warlock nerfed are brain dead secret pallys or some other aggro deck

Prob not, yo. They're likely primarily people who want to play midrange or control decks. Warlock has bad matchups against aggro. However, I've not been able to play midrange since Warlock basically is capable of pretty reliably burning my late game and dealing with my early game while healing off all my damage. I had to switch over to aggro weapon shaman to outpace them

posted a message on Tickatus is good or bad for this game because...
    Quote from lv426a11 >>

I'm really not sure how you tech against TIckatus.

Maybe just play viable deck with an ACTUAL win condition? I don't know if you noticed, but currently Control Warlock is THE ONLY control deck in standard that has one (and despite that, he's dumpster tier above bronze). That, not the Tickatus, is the real issue of control decks.

You should try something with face pressure or Far Watch Post or Shadow Hunter Vol'jin

Bronze whiners want to play slow and greedy decks with no win condition (other than "exhaust all your opponent's resources over 167 turns") and expect them to work... but why would they? It's not a valid strategy in HS anymore and they should adapt to it.

I'm in diamond tier, playing a mid-range corrupt priest, and I'm still getting destroyed by Ticklock. Your "advice" isn't real, yo.
