I really like this deck and i really respect the creator for coming up with this idea but it just seems that its just worse odd rogue to me on paper? might be wrong tho
Everyone is talking about nerfs to druid and quest rogue but what about warlock? 2 top tier decks, will def be the best ones after nerfs, imo they should look at this class too
Here is the problem: preparation has been a problem card that has been brought up since day 1 due to just how far outside of the standard power curve it is, and it creates a very uneven play experience for rogue - when you look at the class globally, it has a +10% winrate when you draw and play a preparation vs having a preparation but never drawing or playing it. That is NOT a healthy card design.
And yes, I get it, you see this as a problem without prep non odd rogue becomes bottom tier in this moment. But druids were saying the EXACT SAME THING when force of nature was nerfed to not have charge, and look at what design spaces opened up after fixing an obviously broken card. Rogue can BE so much better, and not rely on a busted card that never stops being here.
The BIG difference with that comparison is that one class (rogue) would completely depend on the quality of new cards to succeed in the meta if prep was nerfed since many of the other basic cards are terrible, while druid has wild growth, nourish, wrath and even swipe (against aggro) to carry the class if they draw the short end of the new expansion meta. If prep was nerfed and a new expansion gave rogues a 'freeze shaman archtype' the class basically disappears for an entire 4 months.
It isn't good enough to only have good cards potentially released for a class in new expansions and then have bad cards in their basic/classic sets if other classes have comparatively busted cards in those sets.
SI: 7 agent. Backstab. Evicerate. Cold blood. Sap. Edwin Van Cleef. These are all fantastic staples in classic rogue.
Seems like selective memory to me.
And let's say they change it to "reduce next spell by 2 mana", preparation's interaction with ALL of these cards doesn't change, meaning it's still a totally viable inclusion in decks, even if it's slightly worse, like with what happened to gadgetzan auctioneer(used to be 5 mana), or leeroy jenkins (used to be 4 mana), or blizzard (used to be 5 mana)
The driffrence beetwen rogue cards and druid cards is that druid also gets broken cards in expansions while rogue gets complete dogshit
I hate druid personalny and i dont find that class THAT powerful, but its really really frustraiting to play against, it feels like u cant do shit when oponent has good hand which happens pretty often. Thats why i think it should get nerfed
Prep is basicly 3x innervate. Its been too strong for too long. By nerfing it they dont have to touch the quest nor the Vanish.
And it doesnt kill other roughe archetypes
The thing is some classes need op cards in order to cempete in the ladder, without prep rogue has really shitty cards, that card has been carrying rogue for years. Also Quest rogue is barely tier 2 if u look at vicious syndicate report from last week it has 50% winrate. Sure it beats control decks but going by the same logic Malygos druid or Mechatun decks should be nerfed.
What cards do u think will get nerfed? Im thinking about crafting Quest Rogue but i dunno if its worth it if deck will get nerfed, wouldnt understand that cuz quest rogue isnt that powerful if u check the stats, sure it can be pretty good but u need to pilot deck really well which requires skill.
I went From rank 18 to rank 4 pretty damn fast with like 75% winrate but now i cant win shit, every match feels like its unfavored, im also facing druid in like half of my games.

Why would they nerf prep? it basically kills every rogue archetype besides the odd one. Also sonya isnt the problem imo
