I really like the Inspire theme going on with Hunter. Wish it was actually called Inspire tho, but my brain can't make the connection between Echo and "Repeatable this turn." so I guess they made the right call on that one lmao

posted a message on Are you happy to see new Hero cards?

I was really hoping that we'd close off a year without seeing any new hero cards printed, but here we are... Hero Cards are just bad for the game but they're also an easy crowd-pleaser so I guess Blizz had to rely on a Hero Card to sell this expansion. I don't know if Galakrond (Galakrond's?) will turn out to be strong but he ain't a pleasant sight either way. Hopefully the clunky ass Invoke mechanic will be enough to stop Hero Cards from running rampant once again.

posted a message on Lack of Legendary Card Flavor in SoU
I didn't mention Armagedillo because he is not a WoW npc, Hagatha enlarged desert armadillo and Dr. Boom fitted a laser on top it. I think flavor is on point, since Armagedillo is a large weapon of destruction for EVIL.

I'm pretty cool with everything you said but Armagedillo is in fact a rare NPC. Not trying to argue right now, just a small correction.

I still think that legendary flavor is kinda dull and doesn't have the extra dedication and a complete roadmap compared to previous expansions. But I think your assumption on Mr. Chu and Kriziki makes sense and would fix some of the issues with this expansions legendaries tbh. Looking forward to this expansion and the next and seeing how they'll wrap things up.

    Quote from C_A_W >>

They never said anything like this before, EVIL league will always have 5 members.

They never said that every legendary for EVIL classes will have their own lackey.

Amet and Anka are not no-name WoW NPCs, Firstly they literally have names and  secondly you can't have lore rich characters as legendaries every expac.

You made up half the post and other half is subjective.

They did say "More Lackeys will be added with each expansion, representing the growing reach of the League of EVIL." directly in Rise of Shadows announcement trailer. My take from this is that they would release multiple Lackeys, as they didn't say a single Lackey each expansion, and there would be a connected/affiliated new villain of some sort with them. It all comes down to how you interpret that quote tho, so I will cut you some slack as the things Team 5 said are kinda vague.

As for Anka and Amet, and even Tekahn, I know that they have names and are actual characters, don't take "no-name" literally lmao. But how do they relate to EVIL aside from just being "no-name" NPC's in Uldum. Do they advance EVIL's storyline in any way (Except for Tekahn, but he's a special case) aside from probably becoming a boss in the new solo adventure? And while you didn't mention, Armagedillo is a literal no-name NPC, it really has no name at all, just the species. Vessina also just looks like she's thrown in there for no reason, as I mentioned before in the original post.

It's a super strong card but I'm not sure if it can make highlander singlehandedly viable in Standard. There are too many counters to it and the card pool doesn't have enough "different cards that do similar things" unlike the Wild Format.

posted a message on Lack of Legendary Card Flavor in SoU

I've been waiting to address this topic regarding Saviors since we saw some of the Legendary cards revealed during the first bits of reveal season. Most of the Legendaries, with the bulk of it being the Class Legendary minions, are pretty damn boring as well as dissapointing. Not exactly gameplay-wise as we can't play them yet of course, but "lore" wise and personality-wise, I guess?

Team 5 executed this pretty damn good in previous expansions, and especially in RoS with all the Villains vs Defenders thing set up with good foundation and plenty of flavorful characters with both Hearhtstone originals and cool WoW characters on the spotlight. But in SoU, they screwed up on this part. I think they failed to deliver with the hype on both Saviors and the League of EVIL.

For Villains, I recall that Team 5 said that EVIL would be growing in power with each expansion and new villains would be added when they announced Shadows, but all we got for team villain in SoU was no-name WoW NPC's and they didn't even got their special Lackeys. We just got one Lackey. Savior's EVIL legendaries also don't have this cohesion between legendaries that Blizzard maintained for several expansions (Boomsday scientists, Rastakhan teams, Shadows Dalaran vs EVIL) and are scattered all over the place. We have the random NPC's as I mentioned before, the other two are Dalaran Heist playable characters (Dark Pharaoh Tekahn and Vessina). Why not make all of them either NPC's or Heist chars, at least it makes more sense and feels less like "We're out of ideas, put Vessina in there boys" moment. To sum this portion up, I would expect at least one or two solid Villain characters would be added to EVIL, but we only got sidekicks, sadly.

Bringing the League of Explorer's back was an amazing idea but at the end of the day it did not live up the hype imo. As much as I like Highlander as a mechanic, giving Reno's special flavor to all Saviors was a mistake and made it less special. I don't really know the community opinion on this but I think they could've handled this differently or had better concepts for Saviors rather than renofying all of them.

TLDR; EVIL Legendaries in SoU are random guys and not cool villains. Savior's highlander mechanic is kinda lazy and should've kept exclusively for Reno and not all of them.

They don't like nerfing Legendaries over other rarity cards. I doubt they'll nerf Colossus of the Moon before Conjurer's. Hell, I think they'll leave both as is!

posted a message on Make 10 SoU Predictions Here!

    1) EVIL Recruiter will be the most hated card of the set.

    2) Shaman will be top tier in all archtypes, with Vessina Aggro Shaman waving the flag.

    3) Rogue Quest will be top tier and will be run in a Tempo Rogue along with all the thief package from RoS.

    4) Blizzard will have to nerf either RoS or Boomsday Warrior cards (or maybe both sets) as they will become more prevalent and prevent many of the new Warrior cards from seeing play.

    5) Not exactly a SoU thing, but a Rastakhan event similar to Rise of the Mech will happen a few months later.

    6) BEEEES!!! will break Wild (as if it's not broken enough)

    7) Injured Tol'vir will be a staple for all non-combo Priest decks.

    8) Kobold Sandtrooper will find a way into a hyper-aggresive deck.

    9) Siamat will be Zilliax 2.

    10) An Aggro Paladin will def at least be Tier 2 despite all the people shitting on Paladin.
