posted a message on Farewell HearthPwn...
    Quote from Nickfuryusn >>

Hearthpwn seems to have gone downhill lately which isnt much of a surprise considering curse obviously isnt giving this site the support it needs. That being said, it is sad that this specfic site is getting shutdown but at the same time, i look forward to what this group can do with a site of their own. So all in all, i think it will be fine and im ok with this site getting shutdown

also twitch sold off curse to some other company not too long ago i believe. so i imagine support has been even more lacking. the site probably still pulls quite the traffic it needs but until more info surfaces we wont know.

    Quote from Kaladin >>

What's the problem?  OP reads like, "Elysianna is a problem because I personally don't like long games."

Not exactly the problem. other games force a break and will have a winner. where as here you can just go to turn limit and draw. It is not the best of experiences for anyone involved. you can have long games but lets at least decide a winner.

posted a message on How will Blizzard inevitably nerf rogue?

while rogue is a good deck its matchups are not as polarizing as past meta matchups where there was actual no decisions that lead to the outcome of a game. if any 2 cards were to get popped. id say prep and raiding party are the biggest thing that enable a deck like this and prep does cause design issues moving forward. however in this meta of rogue/ mech hunter/ control warrior/ token druid/ hand mage, etc there are 2 cards that are problems as they persuade a similar play style to cards in the past like Jade Idol and Rexxar.

Mad Genius Dr Boom should be upped to 8 mana at least or kept at 7 and lose the rush mechanic though i feel that would kill the card.

Elysiana needs to be bumped to 10 mana just to prevent mirrors going to turn limit. 45 minute to a hr games that have no result really feel bad and while her effect doesnt go infinite like jade idol it does drag it enough to turn limit.

thats my take on Rogue and Warrior. and while Rogue is a good deck its not remotely close to the top 5 decks in meta across hearthstones history nor does it feel like such shit to play against because some games they just mulligan to air.

posted a message on Standard meta is soooo boring

Standards card pool is limiting, the most excitement around Rise is the actual rotation(and personally while Rise looks powered down i like the design they went with). so freshness will come from cards not being there because the pool will be the smallest. that will last a month or 2. usually for me thats when i go to wild just to keep things fresh or have some nostalgia until a new expansion drops.

posted a message on What are your favorite classes to play in Arena today (and which you avoid)?

    top favorite right now.

    Standard: Deathrattle Hunter

Wild: Mecha'thun Warlock and Kingsbane Rogue

Avoids: Palidin in standard and Priest because Barnes is busted in wild. someday he will get nerfed......... someday.

seems sick in wild. as a Mechathun warlock player this card is even better considering Hemet cant get rid of the bombs like he can Corrupted Bloods.

posted a message on So far not convinced

while i agree recycling the same mechanics is lazy. they have shown a tendency in the last 4 or 5 expansions that newer designs have been pretty busted leading to nerfs on nerfs on nerfs. i think K&C was the worst for this. thats not even bringing up the 9 deathknights were on polar ends where half gave inevitability and the other half did nothing. genn and baku along with a entire cycle of cards around them were design disasters for standard.

so while lazy in design, id rather see recycled mechanics and in this case theyre class specific as long as it creates a healthy meta. which is what everyone wants. we are bound to see new designs down the road. it almost feels Old Gods meta-ish. which was actually pretty fine. again not advocating laziness, im more advocating for a healthier meta. which has been quite some time(Ungoro).

posted a message on What was the best and worst era of Hearthstone?

League of explorers to karazan was fun. Gadgetzan while it had some cool stuff like Kazakus. Had so many design flaws and poisoned the game. Not to mention at that time wild was not as large as pool as now so that was not as diverse a format from standard so it offered a similar experience.

Ungoro was a step in the right direction. But KoF was such overhyped garbage. Death knights were so hyperbolic to half we're really good and half we're dumpster fire that it put 4-5 classes at a disadvantage. Lich King was the only star in design for the set and single player content was also a step up.

Evenlock or Mech'thun with losing Bloodbloom and Cataclysm.

Odd Quest Warrior for the current meta.

    posted a message on R5 -> Legend // Time??

it depends on where you start. but i have done this once and it truly was one of the worst experiences i have ever had in the game itself. the mindset and reality of legend is 2 very different things. the mindset is you accomplish this big feat. the reality is 45 dust from rank 5 which is far from worth the time which is where the problem is for incentive.

posted a message on Hearthstone streamers are moving to Magic the gathering What is going on?

In all reality. This is good for both games. Hearthstone expansions have a truly interesting lifespan of about 2 weeks before the meta gets solved. Mtg has a bit less rng and more decision making in deck building. Arena is just good .hearthstone is good but even it has become stale to watch at times. Push wild or make more formats. Doesn't have to be mind blowingly complicated either .Just give players something to keep engaging with. I hope arena keeps ticking up. Magic is a great game outside artifact themed blocks
