posted a message on Announcing Runestones - With Usage and Frequent Questions

After Diablo Immortal I don't see how anyone could trust anything these people say.

Remember the whole "Don't worry, you won't be able to buy equipment with money"? Yeah, right. Because while technically true, they knew that equipment wasn't the important part of the game's itemization, runes were. And those were massively made P2W.

These people are liars. You can't trust anything they say.

After this change the damage cap will essentially become non-existing.
Every game will have at least one quitter who left because he got only two shitty heroes.

It means that instead of having to spend X money for item Y you'll have to buy "Runestone Packs" to afford the runes to buy item Y, which will be conveniently priced in a way that buying a single pack will never be enough to reach the right number of Runestones.
It's the same tactic they used on Diablo Immortal where an item would cost "600 gems" but buying one pack would only give you 500, meaning you had to buy two, but now after you bought the item you still have 400 leftover gems, meaning if you buy a third pack you will reach 600x again and will be able to buy something else yadda yadda.

The substance of this change is actually a huge nerf hidden behind a bunch of minor useless fluff.
The difference between being able to pick 2x Heroes or 4x is MASSIVE - a paying player will literally get double the chances to win the lobby now compared to a non paying player.
They tried monetizing battlegrounds through cosmetics and stuff, and it didn't work - this is why they're giving them away for free now. Because they're worth nothing. That's why they're raining them down as "gifts" while the one most important feature is becoming paid only.

Also notice how you can no longer make XP (ie: gold) from playing battlegrounds. This was clearly made so people would be forced to play the HS card game to make any gold.

Overall this is yet another example of the greedy rot that's infesting Blizzard's brain. Battlegrounds will literally become P2W now, with the paying players getting a massive edge on everyone else.

You people are ridiculous about this whole thing. Jesus christ it's just art change. Nothing of importance is lost here, expect maybe a credit to original artists. And dont you yell me about "but muh blud und tiddies, censurship!", Its sad honestly.

Just make all of the cards blank, it dun affect muh gameplay u guys. It no big deal.

Nothing but muh gameplay matters u guys.

Now let me rant about how other people are ranting on a forum and unironically accuse other people of being losers even tho I am doing the same thing, but complaining about other people complaining about things that I supposedly don't care about.

Lol if u care bout things I don't then it must be cuz ur a weirdo because I am very simple-minded and a shill.

     Damn, rekt.

Chasing off people who use the term "sjw" is the biggest buff they could ever give to the game.

Chasing off sjw's themselves is the biggest buff they could give humanity.

Honestly, Hearthstone has never objectified the male form to anywhere near the degree it has done so with the female; the old art was pretty one-sided and sexist. If they had been more even-handed with their titillating depictions in the past, I might have been more annoyed by this self-censorship.

However, I can only see this as a long-needed course correction. Another alternative would be to sexify a bunch of the male art, but if toning down the girly pics makes the game more palatable in certain markets, it was probably the better move.

You can still play HS and have your porn running on another monitor if you absolutely must do both at once.

This post is like a cavalcade of cliche's, double standards and needless "Marge Simpson" puritanism.

The real question is whether Hearthpwn will do a proper entry for this important and noticeable change or sweep it under the rug and feign ignorance as they did with Jaina.

    It's gonna be quite telling.

I'm more interested about Hearthpwn's behaviour right now.

They've locked all the threads on the subject and there's still no news article on the site about this change despite people talking about this both here and on the blizzard forums and youtube (even Kripparian made a video).

    Why is Hearthpwn hiding it?

It's quite telling that there's still no news coverage on the site about this change. Quite dishonest for a site that purports itself as keeping the player up to stuff with the game's changes.

How is that a reason to shut up everyone including those who didn't partake in that attitude?

Sounds like an excuse to curbstomp a difficult subject to me.

I see what you mean, but let me tell you something:

The mods locked the previous threads not because the subject of this topic was a contreversial (or delicate) one, but because there wasn't a rational conversation about the topic. Then Ehronatha made the current thread to ask mods to leave such threads open, so that people could discuss the change to Jaina's art freely. This would have been very welcoming, if people continued the discussion in a polite matter.

    Quote from ShadowsOfSense >>

The thread was not locked because of whether or not Jaina's boobs being covered is sexist. The thread was locked for the sexist and racist comments which people left in response to the original post, which was just informing people that the change had been made.

The first few comments were fine, but offered no further discussion, simply reactions to the change. Since further comments then degraded, there was no reason to keep the thread open to attract further poor quality posts.

But judging the contents of the majority of posts here, seeing how they can be described more as a salty spams than as objective arguments, I can totally see why the mods are willing to close this and similar threads.

I've already read the explanation (no need to bold anything) I simply doubt that's true.
I suspect it's more about the sensitive and somewhat loathed nature of the subject (prudish censorship by the usual suspects) and thus a desire to sweep it under the rug fast and silently rather than a "noble concern for the quality of a thread".

I would love to believe that people could rationally discuss something like this on the internet. Unfortunately, in the roughly 2 hours the original thread was up, I was proven wrong several times.

    And the tendency continues.

How is that a reason to shut up everyone including those who didn't partake in that attitude?

Sounds like an excuse to curbstomp a difficult subject to me.
