This is something we really need to consider. Quote from an article:
THE REAL COST OF EACH EXPANSION
It costs about $150 plus all the gold you earn from four months of playing to get most of the good stuff in a Hearthstone expansion, and probably about $200 to get everything in a new set without breaking down your golden cards for dust.
That's a lot of money on a single game every four months. And bear in mind that a good percentage of the cards will be pure crap.
So Dalaran team has schemes too! Players will definitely try to use Oblivitron in a combo deck (depends on the soon to be revealed cards)...that's ok if the deck can be countered in other ways than scrambling....if not we are getting the same crap as before...guy drawing, stalling to get combo cards, other guy racing to beat combo deck.... same gig all over again...boring AF!!
I am like you, I am not hyped at all. But I can understand that others are excited about them...the anticipation....the build up till the climax...I get it. Just let them enjoy it...no use spoiling it. I am just patiently waiting to see the cards. All this announcement/teaser ritual is a well oiled blizzard machine that pushes you to rush for the pre-purchase. It's a good marketing strategy, probably worked well for them in the past and they are, understandably, going for it again. Once we see all the cards, I will be able to theorycraft some decks...now this is something that could be exciting...depends on how good the cards will be.
how some people are still that excited over new expansions is beyond my comprehension
because this one will shake up the meta quite hard due to rotations of kobolds and knights as well as ungoro
not necessarily. it depends on how good the set is
This will be our third rotation...how many times is the community going to fall for the same "things will be different", only to be shown immediately wrong. This has happened twice folks. The logic that because A is gone B will be better is a fallacy we've fallen for twice. The reasonable thing is to have skepticism that things will evolve past how the meta operates now...if it does great but too many people have no concept of perspective.
Agreed.....and I admit I fell for it in the past. I'll wait and see this time..
The meta is awful for me now and I can't wait to see what the rotation is going to bring to the game. Major changes I hope. Enough with the infinite value cards and one card winning conditions.
I don't give a damn about tournaments, never watched them, never will. So this info about a format only pros will use is total BS for me. Balance the game for the meta players instead of creating formats used in tournaments for pros.
No, you are not a scumbag just an average player who uses decks designed by Blizzard to be played by average players who want to have fun and help them to climb the ladder. You are happy...so nothing else matters right? Keep it up!

Waiting for this expansion/rotation. If I see more combo cards or one card win condition. I will just play casual and use gold to buy the packs

Odd mage is just ok and top tier on the meta as it is now doesn't mean anything to me.

No really good mage decks right on. It used to be my main but team5 pushed this class in the wrong direction.
On top of that, the meta presently being so boring, I am waiting for the next rotation to decide if I keep playing HS.
I would like to see my good tempo mage coming back.

The meta SHOULD change drastically with the rotation. so I suggest you wait as you don't know which class(es) will come out ahead.

Fire team 5 and hire a new team that designs real interactive decks.
