I'm wondering if there's viability in using Spell Damage minions to boost these weaker board clears, once standard drops (Lightbomb and Velens both going away). Auchenai + Flash Heal would get a boost, Holy Smite/Fire might actually be useful, and as an aside, maybe it would pave the way for more synergy with Auchenai - Earth Ring Farseer/Voodoo Doctor hitting opponent's face for example.
Having played both (but it's been a really long time since I played MtG)....I think the fact that you are powerless on your opponent's turn in HS makes MtG a more complex game. In MtG, you can cast spells on their turn, choose who to defend with, cast Enchantments/Artifacts that affect the board state (and which aren't one-shot spells or Minions), use creatures/spells from multiple "classes" (colors), etc etc.
I think control priest is best right now, I caution against using deathlords, they are extremely risky in anything but a meta full of face players.
Depends. Deathlord is better against control warriors than aggro shamans, for example.
I really disagree with you there. Execute makes Deathlord extremely vulnerable against Control Warrior. In my experience against Aggro Shaman, Deathlord was either killed off and popped an easily cleared minion or it was silenced via Earth Shock and then I still get to use the 2/7 to help clear their board.
edit: Also, nearly all of Aggro Shaman's minions have a max health of 3. That means either Deathlord trades into them very easily or sets up a good Holy Nova or Pyromancer AoE.

Deathlord is actually really good if used properly. Probably is the most vulnerable against midrange Hunter (Hunter's Mark) and Paladin (Equality), but it's pretty awesome on T3 or T4 if you have removal in hand, just in case. It can also put an early end to their Dr. Boom or other big minions with battlecries. Or a more common scenario, they spend multiple turns killing off the Deathlord only to pop something like Ironbeak Owl.
This article is pretty useful. If you're building a Control deck, you have your staple/essential cards (2x Northshire Cleric, 2x Lightbomb, etc), and then you have your optional cards that can be swapped out depending on your play style/the current meta (like Thoughtsteal, running 1x or 2x Velen's Chosen, Flash Heal, etc).
edit: Thisis the list I'm running. I'm still improving my play but I'm grinding slowly, currently Rank 11 and winning at 54% over 100+ games this month.
At 3 mana it would indeed be OP. As a neutral card, isn't it pretty well balanced though? My understanding was that card draw generally counts for 1 to 1.5 mana (see: Azure Drake, which for the stats and bonuses, is a pretty strong card). So ask yourself, would you include a 3 mana 4/2 in your deck?
This is probably good in Arena, and possibly good in Constructed.
I wish there was a way you could turn off emotes. Or if you weren't forced to look at the emote when it shows up on your screen. Sucks man, maybe next update there will be an option to turn them off or to somehow ignore them.
Im quite a sarcastic person. I see what you did there. well played sir!!!
Im probably the only one who wants to try and interact without squelching. Are u one of the people i am referring to perhaps?

Right-click on the enemy hero and press "Squelch" :)
It was heavy sarcasm, but I guess not heavy enough. ;)

Whenever I need to feel good about myself in the future (as a Priest player), I'll just go read these threads:
Paladin forum, searched for 'control priest'
Hearing a Paladin say "Priest is OP, how the hell do you beat them" just makes me all warm and fuzzy inside. =)

Pffft, it's all about spell damage priest in the upcoming meta. Spell damage, Auchenai + Flash Heal, Excavated Evil, Holy Smite/Fire, it's coming.

Perhaps I'm just remembering that one time it pulled a T3 Ysera. ><

It's not a simple game, it's just far more simple than MtG.

Yeah it was sarcasm. Apparently I did not lay it on heavy enough.

What's with the hate on roping? Sometimes a turn is complex and you need time to think it through.
