I am with you. I hate chow, but i understand why he is needed in some decks. I have played every flavor of paladin, and this class does have a problem with cheap early game removal. When playing midrange paladin you want to control board, and turn one chow helps alot with that. I am currently playing secretadin and using secretkeepers for my one drop, so i do not have to run any chows. 2 secretkeepers and 5-6 of the good secrets has been working good for me.
Justicar makes so many decks great. Although he's garbage with some classes, he's good in Druid, great in Paladin, and insane in Warrior. I also love him for a Shaman spell damage deck I had some fun with (being able to always pull a spell damage totem was nice)
Agreed. I love playing my Maly Shaman deck, and Justicar goes great in it. Wrath of Air totem everytime.
As a fellow Shammy player I like your list. I just started playing a highlander Reno-Brann-Shaman list, and so far it has been going great. I agree with you that Tunnel Trogg does seem to be the missing piece of the puzzle for midrange Shaman. There are finally enough cards that synergize overload mechanic now.
Tirion is a great legendary. You will not regret crafting him. I have won many games thanks to Ashbringer. He is the best in midrange paladin tho. I have used him in my secret pally deck, but do not have him in the deck atm. I prefer more 5 drops like sludge and loatheb to drop before the Dr. 6 turn.
I think it is to early to say what will happen with the meta, but it is possible that blizz will have given control some really strong cards that will squeeze out midrange. Midrange usually does not have the burst to kill control fast enough, and it is always needing a good draw to survive aggro. I could see the resulting situation pushing more people towards either aggro or control if that is the case.
Midrange decks are the ones who have the burst to kill through Reno. It's midrange paladin who doesn't have the burst (Dragon priest can tech it in). Shaman can burst for 12 dmg with al'akir Rockbiter together with a Fire Elemental on the board it goes to 18 dmg even more with Flametongue Totem and/or other minions. Hunter can use his 6/5 + HP + Kill command which is already 13 dmg and he has still at least 2 mana more. Well and these deck's tend to hold the board against Control decks. Would you use reno at ~20 HP?
Edit: Didn't even talk about midrange Druid, but everyone noes what this deck does? No burst at all kapa...
You are definitely correct about Shaman having burst. I guess I tend to forget about them. I had Paladin in mind when saying they don't have burst. I have never felt like I had burst damage when playing midrange Hunter. My control matchups seemed really grindy. And I view Druid as more of a ramp / combo type deck that yes has good burst damage.
If he does stick around in the meta we'll be seeing more burst/OTK decks probably.
For sure. The meta will go to decks that are hyper aggro/burst or control.
What are these "hyper aggro" decks?
Things like Mech Shaman and Face Hunter, which are able to kill opponent on turn 4 or 5, before Reno turn.
I don't really understand your distinction "hyper aggro". Facehunter is the king of aggro because it is also excellent against all other forms of aggro. In meta with little agro, you wouldn't pick facehunter for an aggro deck. You'd pick rush pally, aggro druid or mech mage.
The point of reno is to be able to punish decks that run out of steam. It is obviously not meant to work perfectly or be a failsafe against aggro decks, which would have been absolutely horrible design.
Hyper aggro = pure face. All the face decks that will have you dead before turn 6. Zoo is aggro, but not usually that fast. They still try to maintain some board control.

I have no idea what has changed for you. You have definitely not played me. I have not beat a Shaman when playing CW yet. I wish I could spectate those matches. I don't like the Rumbling Elementals. They seem underpowered for the cost. I would rather run Thunder Bluff over Rumbling. Tuskarr Totemic has given my opponents a lot of value when played. If they get mana tide, flame tongue, or totem golem it really sucks to deal with. A decent amount of burst damage might help you finish off a CW. AL-Akir and Bloodlust both work good for that.
Should try Maly Shaman. I am having a blast with it. You will not lose to priest. Probably lose to temp and mech mage, but you should never lose to priest. :-)
I also just started playing cw. I can tell that i need more experience with it, but so far my matchups seem either really good or really bad. Priest and rogue have been easy. Tempo and mech mage are really hard. Face and midrange hunter need a good draw to beat. I have not played much warlock, and my paladin and druid have been about 50/50 depending on what build they are running. So far tho midrange shaman wrecks me so bad. I even run 2 brawl and a Geddon. The match has felt unwinnable. How does cw beat midrange shaman?

I held off on crafting Geddon for last. Now I can not imagine CW without him. I run Geddon and 2 brawls. Helps you keep the board clear.

I beat this with a control druid style deck. Naturalize, Mulch, and Poison Seeds work great. BGH and MCT also work good if you got them.

Could be good in control / fatigue warrior. Or maybe we will see highlander hearthstone. Lol
