I should also mention that sometimes you will face mirror matches or matches where the opponent is not playing minions. In these events you should use Primordial Studies to create minions that you can target to progress your quest. If you find that you really just need more minions for either this purpose or to just run interference, you can swap a Primordial Studies with a Font of Power.

Your advice made me upload my first Youtube video. Nothing at all special about this hunter. Spent over 3000 dust on this lame deck...sigh

    https://youtu.be/QOb6hI9JeYE

After watching your video, I think the issue is that you do not really understand how to play this deck. You have to understand that this deck is about progressing your quest while chipping away at your opponent or stalling their minions. Once you complete the quest, your ignites/fireballs, and other direct damage will be so overwhelming it makes up for the lack of damage down while progressing quest.

Here is a breakdown of errors I saw:

Turn 2, chose value over quest progression from Runed Orb - should have picked Oasis Ally
Turn 3, ping (really!?) over quest progression from First Flame - even at higer cost, removes a threat and progresses quest
Turn 4, Could have either played Oasis Ally and completed phase 1 of quest by now or Second flame on second cultist.
    Turn 5, Correct play
Turn 6, targeted the lower threat minion and used two quest progression cards doing it when you could have used one Apexis Blast and generated a minion too.
Turn 7, Used Arcane Intellect over Refreshing Spring water, which would have netted a 1 mana cost only, still only pinged and discovered a minion from Primordial Studies (a quest progression card)

You did not complete the first phase of the quest.

In order to win with this deck, you need to prioritize completing your quest, even if it feels like it's the play that is less mana efficient or has less value. The quest grants it's own rewards upon each phase of completion and is the point of the deck, it should be the primary focus of your plays not just on the turn you are on, but the turns ahead.

This is the one I use, and it is good against a broad range of deck types:

    ### Quest Mage
    # Class: Mage
    # Format: Standard
    # Year of the Gryphon
    #
    # 2x (0) Flurry (Rank 1)
    # 2x (1) Brain Freeze
    # 1x (1) Devolving Missiles
    # 2x (1) First Flame
    # 2x (1) Primordial Studies
    # 1x (1) Sorcerer's Gambit
    # 2x (2) Cram Session
    # 2x (2) Ignite
    # 2x (2) Runed Orb
    # 2x (3) Arcane Intellect
    # 1x (3) Cone of Cold
    # 1x (3) Ice Barrier
    # 2x (3) Incanter's Flow
    # 2x (4) Fire Sale
    # 2x (4) Fireball
    # 2x (5) Apexis Blast
    # 2x (5) Refreshing Spring Water

It's look they took what already was and just turned it up to 11 with the quests.

The top "Quest Warlock" decks on HSReplay right now are just Zoo decks with the quest thrown in... surprisingly it's quite effective, as you can race through the quest just doing zoo things anyways, then finish them off after quest completion with some Raise Deads and Knife Vendors.

posted a message on returning player - whats the hell is going on ????

The rewards track is more generous than people make it out to be, but that aside the BEST thing now is that if you want to get some old card backs that you missed, you can look through them and right-click, then pay 500 gold to craft them. Now, some people whinge about cash-grab, yadda yadda whatever, but I think it's awesome, because before I would have needed a time machine to get them.

posted a message on Is Elemental shaman finally ,one of the best decks ever?

Typical of best decks, when I play against it my opponent is on curve, draws all the right answers for what I'm doing, they build overwhelming damage and blow me out.

When I play it, the reverse of that.

If you paid $7 for it while you could, congrats - if you wanted to pay gold for it all along, congrats! The only losers here are the cash buyers that waited too long.

8 minions that can attack... for the whole match - seems like sufficient board clears or single target removal could keep this deck from ever getting off the ground. How does it have an 87% wr?

posted a message on Kabal Card Back Is Now Available On The Shop For A Limited Time

I don't care what anyone says, but, I'm an avid card back collector and there are card backs from the first and second year that I missed that I had no way of getting without a time machine. I get the arguments regarding that not being able to get it is what lends to it's uniqueness, however pulling these out of the vault for a limited time and then putting them back does not diminish the uniqueness of the card back while still giving people who missed it the opportunity to grab one, if they choose, which there are many who may choose to pass it on by.

posted a message on Poll: Why the hate for Control decks?

Lol, every expansion we have these "aggro/control decks are awful" threads. C'mon, let's get real for a sec and just say the thing we really want to say which is, "I don't like the thing the opponent played against what I'm using". Losing to control makes you feel bad because they have a ton of answers, usually expensive to craft ones, that shames you for just belching your hand onto the board. Vice versa, control players hate losing to everything else because they know that the reality of the aggro/control tug-of-war favors aggro because while sometimes the control player will draw into bad answers or unplayable cards, the aggro player will never draw any "bad threats".
