posted a message on New Expansion Format Makes The Game More Expensive (Mini Expansion)

All the posts about how Obfuscated the battle pass, but we are ALSO getting a mini-expansion 3x a year!!

More cards + mini-expansion = more packs needed to get what you want.

Whenever new cards come out, people need to buy packs to stay competitive in ranked.
Blizzard can quite conveniently cloak all of this as "we're just giving you more updates and more cards!"
This is also breaking a promise, the promise made by Ben Brode when he was still working at Hearthstone.

In reality, it just costs more. The mini-expansion is a shameless cash grab for anyone with half a brain.

That aside, adding more cards doesnt change the game significantly for F2Pers. You're still getting the same amount or more than you previously were, and can still build the same number of decks. Having more cards available in total doesn't change that.

I mean it kinda does. Adding 33% more cards a year, means there's more to collect, and sure if you want to just be competitive, you can just build one budget deck and compete, but if you wanna experience the full breadth of the game, you have to spend more money. Maybe that's unfair of me to say, but it feels really bad to go from having a significant portion of the collection to having barely half of it while spending even more money.

Yes, this is entirely correct. It is pretty obvious with all these small changes that they are moving the scepter from expensive to even more expensive.  It's simple really if we want Blizzard to notice us small people who just want to play our beloved game without spending 100's we got to do something... That something is to completely stop supporting Blizzard until they do something about the greed and make the game actually playable by making the content easier to unlock.

you absolutely right, I forgot about the daily quests :)
But still, to complete all these combined with the weekly quests on a regular basis you will spend as much time doing the quests themselves,
you don't complete them in 15min.  My reaction to that post was because he made it sound like, you log in do your quests real quick and you're done. this is simply not the case and I wanted to put that in perspective.
For example: Get 3 wins with a certain class for 1000XP with a 50% win rate you will, and an average game time of 10min you be working on this quest 60minutes.
If you don't log in for 3 days, you might get lucky if you can combine a quest or two.

Besides that, you are not having fun with the games you actually want to play. For some weekly's you will have to dive into arena or battlegrounds if your unlucky with rerolling them.
For me personally, I didn't get the game just to complete the quests and then log out so I can simply achieve getting level 50!

as an adult I want to have fun and turn off my mind from of the daily work troubles, but with this new system you have to play the game every day for min. 1 hour

No you don't. Hop on every few days, do your quests, and you'll hit level 50 in the new system.

You can easily calculate this, to reach level 50 you need 196200 XP in  12 weeks!
    weekly quest: 2x 1750 + 1x 2250= 5750 total: 11.350 XP per week! 11.350 XP X 12 weeks = 102.000 XP

So you need to grind out 94.200 besides the portion given from the quest.

    94.200 / 400XP per hour = 235,5 Hours / 12 weeks = 19.625 hours per week!
By doing the quests you will spend time what will give XP, so you should be able to do your quests within these 20hours per week
on average 2.8 hours per day!

So it's not, just do your few quests and you will easily get 50! you will have to put in some more effort besides your quest.  Unless you take 2,8hours every day to clear your quest!

Someone pointed out my calculator wasn't working correctly, I forgot daily quests and it's every 17 weeks and not 12. This is a fair assessment so I can't leave these numbers up with a clear conscience. Hopefully, the following is more accurate:

    196200 / 17 weeks = 11541 XP per week
    11.350 XP per week x 17 = 192.950
    daily quests 1000 X 7 = 7000 x 17 = 119.000 - 311.950 XP from doing all the quests in 17 weeks
Stormy is right you can hop on and do them and achieve level 50!

posted a message on Blizzard wants to make money - is it a problem?

Blizzard making money is not a problem! And I don't mind paying for a good game and for a decent value. But this is greed to the next level!
Just have a good look at the progress bar and see what they put on there, at the end a dragon pack, like really???
They have the arrogance to just place any shit on there and think it is ok! making you pay for it and let you grind for 12 hours a day... So you not even allowed to reach the rewards... WTF.

It's the same arrogance of Activision making young kids play for stupid stickers and ugly banners in COD MW, that look like it got 1min design time on them, and they rip kids off because kids pay them, thinking this is all fine and normal!

Corporate Greed Is The Root Of All Evil!!

posted a message on Blizzard lied about the new reward system

    Yes this is very true!

Just think about it, after level 50, you need 4500xp per day to get 150 gold. you think ooh that's 50gold more than I could earn.
But noo, because there is no way you can earn 4500xp in one day unless you spend a crazy amount of time.

    Basically 12hours!!
Remember when you could get 30 wins with an agro deck in a matter of hours??
    Not possible anymore!
Time is money, and they are making us work twice as hard now (12/4500XP= 12,5gold per hour!)
This is a lot less than before guys!

And this is based on the 400XP per hour they said we are getting, which is also not true. You deliberately don't see your XP gain! They don't want you to see this bar except when it feels good and moves to a reward! Because noticing how little progress you make filling it after your games would make you feel bad. So, rather than fix the system to help make the game feel better, they try to hide the bad parts.

posted a message on Celestalon math is wrong
    Quote from P4dge >>

Oh christ who the fuck cares? Stick to one thread for crying out loud. This place has descended into some sort of amateur mathematics club with children spending hours arguing about averages, making up their own numbers and having bitch fits over min/max xp in a flipping card game.

Play or don't play, it's up to you. If it doesn't work for you, do something else or at least keep all your petty and boring maths debates to one thread.

First off if you dont care, then don't read the post, dont bash others for speaking out, we can discuss this as much as we want, and I hope to see many more of tthese posts all over the place!! Because this system needs discussing, it needs outrage! It needs changing! Activision has shown us they clearly they don't care about their player base and just want more and more money, they are greedy and getting even more greedy!

Now earning gold doesn't include winning, we only climbing the ladder for the rewards at the end of the month. Other than that you just play games for hours and gain 400XP per hour they say. I tested this also and indeed this isn't correct, 300-350xp looks indeed more like it!

So if we do the math it means 13 hours per day EVERY DAY! just to reach the max 150 level! Wauw that is insane! And totally NOT what they promissed us. I play a decent amount of hearthstone, and I could easy farm 15k gold per expansion by doing 3-6 hours a day.
And I wouldnt even play every day. Hearthstone has basicly devalued our playtime value with almost 50%

So you got to spend more hours, and you will get less gold, and you need to buy more cards with the minipacks!
We get less legendaries in our packs, and they added more legendaries in an expansion then ever!

Add all this up and you can see it hasnt doubled but trippled the price to play Hearthstone!

I will not buy any preorders anymore, from now on its free to play! because they clearly dont deserve our money.
Thats the only clear statement you can make against this greed!!

posted a message on Some of you don't deserve what you think you deserve

Well, you have Blizzard making a game that needs to make money,
And then you have Activision, changing the rules and implementing a battle pass, XP system that's too hard to calculate.
and simply put getting really greedy! Deciding you have to work twice as hard to get the same amount of gold!
How does this SERVE a tennis player?

    Old rewards:
    12.5 gold per hour
    New rewards
    6.2 gold per hour

At the OP, Dude they never said it was to counter bots, what gave you that idea... it's pretty obvious why blizzard..
Ahum I mean Activision has come up with a battle pass, same as in all the other games.

It's ALL about your wallet and nothing else!

It's just another way to earn an extra 20bucks from people who are willing to give it to them.

posted a message on New system data: exp for duration of game rather than wins?

yea I noticed the same. Our rate of Acquiring will be important.
It would feel really bad if you lose a game, and not get any XP after 30min of playing.
This counters that in a good way. I would love to know how much XP in total to get level 150 and how long that would take.

posted a message on what the total gold of the new rewarad system and will we able to finish it without buying the boost?

    My calculations came up with:

20.500* gold value (this includes 100g for a pack earned old or new)
    + 2x legendary & 2 tavern tickets
*if you reach the pot of gold at the end!

    Pot of  Gold = 100 levels x 150 gold=15.000 gold

<5.500* gold =if you do not reach the pot of gold at the end!

The XP grind is something I'm still exploring, how much XP do we get per win or loss, is it different on casual or standard. And it seems like you really need the weekly quests to be able to push levels.

My first impression (so don't hold me to this) is that this is not doable for a casual player, who would not get 30 wins per day in the past. And because it's such a long grind, 150 levels, the 20% XP bonus is going to add up. it could save you up 15 to 25 levels grinding out.
