when a deck is a strong as tempo rogue is, you start to feel like every card is broken. Stuff like Leeroy and Sap aren't broken but they "feel" like it when rogue is already so far ahead after slapping your shit.
It's the raiding party package that tips rogue over the edge. raiding party draws you great tempo cards with great synergy that curves out perfectly. Think about how good master's call made midrange hunter, now consider if you could play every one of the cards you draw over the next two turns and have them all be hugely impactful.
Fair, but Leeroy still should get the HOF. It's not just about broken, but boring. There's pretty much never been a time when some deck or another didn't run Leeroy. It isn't just that balance has been pretty bad the last few expansions, but that too many cards are stale.

Zion7 posted a message on Leeroy is THE problem actuallyPosted in: General DiscussionThe problem is not Leeroy, it's Raiding Party and Wagle Pick... BUT... Leeroy is kinda also the problem if Blizzard is determined to keep printing bounce/mana reduction cards because let's be real Leeroy is card that shouldn't be bounced+mana reduced. Just to recap, 2 swings of waggle pick + the Leeroy bounce is 20dmg and still leaves mana for stuff like Cold Bloods or Evis. The whole reason Blizzard created Rush cards and stopped printing charge cards was to put an end to all this crazy bust damage from an empty board, it's not fun and it's not interactive since we can't put minions into defense position like other CCGs. The real truth is, Charge is simply a bad mechanic in this game because of it's design. Rush is good, Charge is not. That's why they got rid of the other powerful Charge cards, Leeroy's the last remnant and it does really need to go to HoF now. The people who want it to stay aren't taking into account how much it limits design space for Rogue on bounce cards that Blizzard might want to print in the future.

jazzfan27 posted a message on Leeroy is THE problem actuallyPosted in: General DiscussionI think if the game can tolerate Fireball then it can also deal with Mr. Jenkins. I just try to think of it as a neutral fireball instead of a charge minion and that helps a bit.
You can't bounce a fireball, true, but Fireballs can shoot over Taunt minons.
I don't think it is really a problem, more of a feels bad type of thing.

Kill it with fire and then kill it some more

TwistedCardmaster posted a message on Leeroy is THE problem actuallyPosted in: General DiscussionRegardless if he is a problem or not, I think it would be good idea to just... rotate out whole basic / classic pack and create new one. Some cards are played since beta and they are always relevant and viable (like Sap, Shield Slam, Brawl, Swpie, FIreball, Frostbolt, Hellfire, Hex, Polymorph, Animal Companion, Kill Command, Leeroy), so maybe it's time to get rid of them? Like wipe everything and start pretty much from scratch. That would be good opportunity for Blizzard to use all their experience from all those years and redesign the game (maybe in more healthy way), give classes new identities (maybe even along with new hero powers), direction etc.
I'm not saying, that those cards are OP or problematic (though they sometimes are...) but I think that would be healthy for the game, to give it some freshness and new excitement. Also some classic cards are just bad nowadays (due to power creep and other things) and since Blizzard is unwilling to buff or replace them, maybe it's the best move to dump them as unnecessary burden? Not to mention, those cards are limiting Blizzard's design capabilities (that's why they are HoFing them one by one, which is by the way unfair, when some classes are losing key cards while some remain untouched).

DelireMan7 posted a message on New Mage Card Reveal: Lesser Ruby SpellstonePosted in: NewsI prefer a game where the goal is to have fun instead of "have to win".
For me HS is not a competitive game. It's a sand box where you can experiment with hundreds of card and have a lot of fun.
HS is for me a relaxing game.
I understand the philosophy of "winning" but in this game it leads to a lack of creativity. People only use "good decks and cards" and don't touch the "bad" cards.
Removing the random factor of cards will kill the purpose of the game for me.
Gimmick and "random" card is all I ask to HS. ;)
But everyone enjoy the game for different reason.

Leeroy is an old man, an old taste, a disused strategy. He smacked so many faces in rogue, warlock; I've seen him in token druid, aggro hunt, pirate warrior,...
Press F for thoses (too) many stolen wins

Isn't he?!
Player since Naxx, I never seen as many Leeroy as in this meta... Put him everywhere fellas!! Even control deck can include this as a finisher; it's better than many others legendaries...
His mustache deserve a special place in the Hall of Fame am I right?!
