posted a message on Did you notices Nemsy skin ?

Nemsy has the standard hero background/frame art to the left side of portrait?  all the other alts had unique art there, hope this is just an early screen grab...

would be nice if ALL heroes were updated to have that part of frame be unique, could be a bonus on path to 500 wins golden...

posted a message on Let's explain why THE NEW CHANGES SUCK!

i truly don't have any sympathy or understanding for anyone that thinks innervate wasn't a busted card. Its essentially Magic: The GAthering's Dark Ritual, which has been widely acknowledged as far too powerful for well over a decade at least.  The comparison was obvious to magic players when Hearthstone launched, and frankly im surprised that it took so long to acknowledge its inherent over-potency.

There will be more ramp cards in Druid coming soon, just not such an unconditional one that can be played in all phases of the game.  I can see several potential variations that ramp by 2 mana but cant come out in first couple of turns being fine, and occasional rotation of the best of fast ramp effects is a good thing IMHO, as wild growth itself is already plenty strong for an evergreen card.

posted a message on Discuss the Nerf - Fiery War Axe

this is a good change  as it was too high a bar for any other warrior weapons to cross in future designs. This card is serviceable still for new players and still the same exact effect once in play so its not confusing to long time players, and now there is plenty of design space for new 2 and 3 cost warrior weapons that are same same but different (which was needed).

I expect to see an all-new 2 drop warrior weapon that is ladder competitive within the next year, and/or a 3 drop 3/2 or 2/3 with small upside (which I think is perfectly fine so-called power creep vs a basic card)

pro: a life gain card for a class that has none and some decks may want lifegain

    con: pretty much everything else.

the card is pure life gain, in that it has no impact other than gaining life. Personally, as I learned playing Magic, incidental life gain tacked onto other effects you like can be nice, but spending a valuable card resource on a pure life gain spell is not worth it, except possibly at an insane rate.  This is not an insane rate. it gains 2 life for 2 mana and a card with the hero power...that's not remotely playable. i Don't think gain 9 from shard is worth 2 and a card or 12 from assassin blade, and those seem best care scenarios and assume you cast the spell on the weapon before the first swing, which means it can't work on curve aggressively. Rogue IS desperate for healing at times, but i don't think id even end up playing a pure life gain card that simply cost 2 to gain 8 life with no strings attached in an ideal optimized decklist. there will be something better for that slot.

if this had another effect attached, like deal 2 to a minion or something board impacting, im very interested, even on the default hero power.

if this had a body attached, id be interested.

like the idea of giving rogue life steal on weapons, highly dislike this card, even if it cost less.  i would like to see this effect in rogue from other means, as well as letting rogue be immune when attacking somehow, as ways to enhance the "control" rogue slowly. this shows they are willing to walk this direction, but seems extremely conservative first stab at it.  I'd like to see a developer's diary of how they tested and costed this and how it landed where it did.

combos may make this a niche player someday i suppose, but its not a good card by itself or with the carpool before this expansion IMHO.

posted a message on Which was your 1st Golden Hero?

playing regularly since Beta, but still no Golden hero. Warrior is close now, thanks to Control Warrior, Patron Warrior, and Pirate Warrior wins adding up slowly over months.

Feels weird to me that despite near daily devotion to a game for multiple years, I still have no golden portraits.  It rewards lots of ladder grinding, not being a loyal Hearthstone player, should that be the case? /shrug.  I play more arena games compared to constructed ladder, have rarely had months where i grinded the ladder alot, but i do make an effort to complete daily quests and play a little bit almost every day, but too busy with work/life to ALWAYS clear my quest queue. Ive gotten to rank 5 or a bit higher several times when i did try to climb, but don't have the time or desire to put in the reps for the full legend grind; i play all the classes, experiment in ladder for quests, and may bounce between an aggro and control list when i do grind...so i dont "main" a class, and have several hundred wins with all the heroes.  If Arena wins counted, id have several golden heroes i wager.  meh.

Would be nice if golden heroes got custom styling on the board frame like the alt heroes (and a card back?), it might feel more worth grinding for. Always seemed so minor a reward for such alot of game time to me, yet few other things to work towards either. seems a missed opportunity, and misses the play patterns of dedicated, competitive, but ultimately casual time commitment players like myself. More minor goals and carrots for different play styles to keep us hooked longterm appreciated. my 3 cents on golden heroes.

This is the easiest quest to complete - you get to summon these 5+ attack creatures anyway if you play Druid. And the reward is huge!

I wonder, whether +3 Attack Adapt applied to a 2-attack creature triggers the quest?

Unlikely. You summoned a 2 attack minion and buff it. That is not summoning a 5 attack minion.
With HS, you never know.  I have been wondering about Druid of the Flame, and if you transform it to a 5/2, does that count for quest? It counts as playing a beast from hand,I think it will.  And maybe adapt timing is such it applies before quest checks for 5+...

posted a message on Predictions for 2018 Hall of Fame cards?

Hex - because i think they view "single target removal" as something shaman shouldn't be so great at given all the rest of their strengths, and this is arguably the best single point removal spell in game.  I think they view Hex as a mistake in that sense, and would prefer shamans to be more about AoE and wide strategies, but less precise.  leave the precision removal to war and rogue mostly.  maybe they will nerf hex instead, which is a better move if they want to keep the wild "color pie" balanced longterm.  hex at 5 mana?  a bad/different assassinate that sidesteps deathrattle. it would still be plenty good at 4 mana and likely still better than shaman deserves.  let's see what direction they push shaman this year.

clearly we see leper gnome as a 2/1 for 1 was way undercosted.  but now that its a 1/1 for 1....this couldn't be a 3/1 for 2?  feels like its half a mana too expensive atleast.  1 toughness on a 3 drop stinks.  getting a 2/1 for 2 with effect, i.e.: the original leper gnome, might have been better received?  meh...i like the death rattle, but a 3/1 for 3 is just TOO terrible, right?

i for one am buying TGT packs still until i open a legendary and hit the pity timer. Then I'll stop in favor of newer sets. MSG will be 40 dust packs too before I know it anyway, and TGT will disappear in a few months.

Still crossing my fingers that one of the remaining two unrevealed Gadgetzan Priest cards somehow enhances or is related to Shadowform.

This. I keep expecting a card like Mad Scientist for a Shadowform priest boost one day, a reasonable creature that helps you cast it cheap and easy. Wouldn't even have to be in your deck initially necessarily.

posted a message on Armor removal / piercing mechanic?

remove all armor is likely too much, as such an effect shouldn't be too cheap for how brutal it is, but its so narrow at same time, not worth a card slot. But tech cards are good for meta environments, and perhaps there are softer ways to slightly punish armor without completely sidestepping it, and minor enough you can put the effect on an efficient body?

    2 cost (mech minion)

If your opponent has armor, minion gets +1 atk

    2/3

    or

    3 cost weapon - shaman

deals double damage to opponents with armor

    2/3

    etc

posted a message on My solution to a priest 2 drop

i definitely think a taunt minion for 2 that can't attack but has a bigger than normal butt is what priest needs early game to still be priest. slow the game down and help blunt an early assault without representing any offense at same time.  long game is priest's advantage, so 2 drops that help get them there in general is what is lacking.

maybe Castle turret 2 cost 2/4 taunt can't attack heroes.

a 1 drop that makes healing hero power  worthwhile on 2 is an interesting hole to possibly fill too, but not sure this actually helps them:

Armor priest 1 cost 1/3 minion, gain armor instead of health when you heal a hero

a different approach to making hero power on 2 viable:

shadow dancer 1 cost 1/3 battlecry: enter shadow form death rattle: leave shadowform
