I've only ever accepted one 'after match' friend request ever.
I'm always at rank 20 since I don't grind out the ladder all that much and I was matched against a guy who very clearly just started playing the game maybe for a couple of days. I had far superior cards and combo's and he dropped Chillwind Yeti on turn 4...
Naturally the match was very 1 sided, but on my final turn where I had him dead to rights, I simply hit the concede button. He sent a friend request asking why I did that, even he could see that I won and I told him straight. "You obviously just started the game, it's not fun for me playing against somebody who's still trying the game out and I know for a fact that it ain't gonna be fun for you to get rofl stomped when you don't have a lot of cards, I can always get the wins back".
We stayed in touch and I helped him with the ropes of the game, built him a very cheap hunter deck and a fairly good zoolock. He's still active on my friends-list and we chat from time to time.

Quote from TheGreatSpookshow >>How about...Can we have a "Clear new cards" button. Or a See "new cards", and where are our achievements. Still blows my mind that a game this old doesn't have an achievements screen.
You can search "new" in your collection to find them and clear the tag

Sorry to the person I picked - you're not gonna have a good tournament now my friend but I need that pack :)

For the OP:
I wouldn't say people "hate" Wild, but possibly that they either:
1) don't have the card collection to compete
2) Stick to standard because that is where most of the pro-competition is at
And as far as people saying, "Don't worry, it will rotate soon", those are the people that like to play Standard.
But that's just my opinion.

I don’t think that people “hate” wild, it’s just not relevant to anyone but the most hardcore collectors and players. As a F2P guy who started HS this year, and who can barely keep up with each new expansion, Wild is a format that I’m realistically never going to play unless blizzard does the obvious thing and makes old packs available at a 50-75% reduced cost

People like the one who flamed you should understand that a lot of players using "meta" decks in Casual are either testing the deck before laddering or trying to complete a quest and/or the 100g daily limit. They're not there just to piss their opponent off by playing a "meta" deck.
If their "off-meta" decks lose to "meta" decks, they shouldn't be surprised either.
The main problem is a lot of people expect different things from Casual mode. It can be a rumble of ranked, it can be a meme matchup, it can be a homebrew hodown, or anything in between.
Bottom line is, don't feel bad about playing anything in Casual, that's what the mode is there for.
edit: Also, etiquette and Hearthstone shouldn't be mentioned in the same sentence. (lol)

This pretty much kills odd Paladin. (Which sucks for me because that was my best ranked climbing deck.)
Know any other easy ranked climbing decks that aren't full of legendary/epic cards? (Yeah, didn't think so.)

Umm...People play odd paladin because they want to climb ladder? That's one of the biggest things to do in Hearthstone? Also to everyone who says that Odd Paladin is "autoplayed and brainless" let a small child play it for you. Heck, let them play in Legend because its so easy. Also I want you to watch top legend match ups or tournaments; you have to play around board clears, healing, over extension, etc.
Finally, if no one played odd paladin, what would complain about? Druid and Hunter? What if no one play those? All this community does is complain about the deck that has the best winrate.
Sorry for the salt, but reading these posts just shows and all these forums leads me to one thing: If something does not go right, you will complain about it, whether it be RNG or a deck. These forums ALL have salt. Peace.

They shouldn't have used ComicSansMS 14 Bold for coding.

The way I see it, a big reason that Hunter has become so popular is because it's actually fairly cheap to craft a deck that has a reasonably high win rate. You look at most of the other top decks on the list, and most of them use several expensive legendaries. You can craft a mid-range Hunter fairly cheaply and have good results. Same thing went for Odd Paly... it was a fairly cheap deck that required only Baku for a legendary. I expect that a lot of the people who used to play Odd Paly have transitioned to similarly cheap Hunter decks.

Odd Paladin is still playable, maybe not at the same levels it once was, but I have won many games without ever drawing a Level Up!. I do however dislike this nerf mainly because Odd Paladin was one of the most reliable and cheapest decks for climbing the ladder. For those of us new to the game, or with limited card collections, it presented a good opportunity to compete in a game that is not very kind to noobs. Granted, the new "training" ranks help somewhat, but you still leave them with a pitiful collection when you finally hit the meta. Furthermore, while Level Up! gave Odd Paladin a strong dose of burst damage, it was far from a guaranteed win like many people suggest. I've had many games where I've used it only to watch my board get cleared by a quick AoE, not to mention that most opponents understand the danger that Level Up! poses and strive to make it difficult to keep any Silver Hand minions on the board. You can't level up what you can't keep on the board, and late game, there are more than enough responses. I will keep playing my Odd Paladin, but it will no longer be my preferred ladder deck, unfortunately. I guess like everyone else, I'm going to Hunter.
