Thanks for this thread. I'm preparing for a tournament next weekend, and I had so many question about the terminologies ... and You simultaniously answered all my questions.
The ''Conquest BO5 Swiss tournament'' label never been this crystal clear to me!

Fluxflashor posted a message on List of Helpful ToolsPosted in: ESports TeamA list of tools to help do stuff. This list will get updated when new tools come out.
Survival Guide Tools
- Line of Players HTML Generator
- Useful to create a quick line of players with their avatars, flags, and names linked to their Twitter accounts.
- You're better off creating the tournament in the database to get access to more tools.
- Stream Embed HTML Generator (Coming Soon)
- Helps create stream embeds which play nicely with the site, and for different areas.
Tournament Tools
- Deck Scraper
- Choose the site the deck is on, and provide the URL of the deck.
- Parses the page, extracts the deck contents and converts it to the HearthPwn deckbuilder format.
- Visit the link it gives you, and save the deck on the site!
- Deck Formatter
- Insert a tournament id (get this from the tournament url) to receive neatly formatted deck html.
- This parses our CP Tournament pages for a list of players and their decks.
- Currently outputs html for:
- Deck Table with Player Names and decks linked to class icons. (Useful for tournaments with more than 5 decks per player)
- Deck list with Player Names for headings and a list of their decks links to icons + deck names.

I hope we'll have some news to share on the topic real soon.

Fluxflashor posted a message on Front page censoring/manipulationPosted in: Site Feedback & SupportHey there,
I saw you had posted in another forum and deleted your post, I had just sent you a private message to make sure you were aware of how the widget worked. Since you've posted again, allow me to publicly state what is happening!
The top decks widget on the front page defaults to decks created within the past 7 days. This is to ensure deck content is fresh and more people have a chance to get their creations noticed. Once a deck reaches the age of 7 days, it is no longer eligible to show up in this listing, however, if you change the sort methods, it may still appear. Updating a deck does not reset the creation time on a deck, so any updates to a deck won't let it stay in this spot longer.
I do recommend for anyone who is thinking about writing a lengthy guide for their deck, to recreate their deck (not an edit, totally new deck!) when they are ready to post their full deck guide, that way you have a chance of being up there for a full seven days, assuming of course your deck does well. It saddens me when you see a deck thats a few days old finally get a written guide and it only makes it to the top decks for a couple of days.
Not related to this thread, I'd also like to take a second to remind anyone reading this that we do not under any circumstances allow the manipulation of votes on deck content, and anyone who does manipulate their votes on decks will receive a warning on possible temporary bans from the site. Manipulating votes on the site can also make you ineligible for our Deck Architects group, so let the votes come naturally! We do of course encourage you post your decks around the web to get people to check them out, including writing up a small post on your deck on any of our class or deck discussion forums - all great ways to get your deck some more viewership.
If you have any further questions, I'd be happy to answer them ;)

viStringTheory posted a message on Auto-concedes as Ragnaros?Posted in: Tavern BrawlI've been playing some Tavern Brawl this morning, and every single match I've played as Ragnaros. I suspect a lot of people are conceding immediately if they get Rag. I don't know why...Rag is fun, and it is a challenge and thrill to win as Rag.
This screenshot attached is from my most recent match. I was able to get board control and throw down High Justice Grimstone behind a taunt. On Nefarian's turn, he was able to assassinate Deathwing with Rend Blackhand and play a Blackwing Corruptor, but I drew into a Flamestrike, which caused Nefarian to concede.
I guess if people just want their first win of the week, then I understand the concedes a bit. I am having a blast with Rag.
This is my first post by the way. I like this community, and I look forward to interacting more with you.

Tehstool posted a message on Brainstorm: Tournament StatisticsPosted in: ESports TeamMaybe something to do with deck bans if they are a thing.
Also to expand on the class archetype representation maybe we can do something with that says 75% of priests were control and 25% were midrange or something.

Rank 2 now and I'm already so tired of this. Had an insane winstreak with Zoolock yesterday (Brann, no Flame Imps) but stopped playing when I didn't progress anymore. I think that's one of the most important things to keep in mind if you climb: Stop as soon as you notice you're getting tired/restless/discontent because you feel like you're stagnating because that's how tilts and losing streaks start. And stick to the decks you know how to play. It's no use if people claim that for example Control Priest or Freeze Mage is working great for them but you don't know how to play it.
I had the most success with some standard lists (Secret Pala, Zoo) where I changed one or two cards to fit my playstyle. This also requires you to think about why there are certain cards in a deck, why they're good in certain matchups, why and at which point they're crucial and which are bad and make you lose the game against certain classes. Instead of netdecking the current "80% wins!!11"-list if you're stuck it's really better to make a break and see if your personal best deck is successful later again. I also think people assume that the meta changes way more quickly than it actually does due to the small and therefore super biased sample size each of us is facing individually.
