I made this card for a past competition a few weeks ago, but didn't make finals. Unlucky :(
It fits this week, though so I think I'll resubmit it.
I think this might be ok if you just reveal a dragon in your deck and make it cost less without adding the complication of the joust. I also think you could give it type: Dragon if you wanted.
I appreciate the thought! I'm mostly using joust because I'm disappointed that it didn't reach its full potential, and to show a better version of something already in the game, while also not making the card too boring. It also adds flavor, because TGT was all about the knights and heroes and whatnot and Dragon Riders are awesome. Plus, it's justification for the premium stats.
As for why it's not a Dragon, this is the explanation I offered on the original submission:
It isn't a Dragon because the card focuses more on the rider as opposed to the Dragon, similarly to how cards like Argent Horserider and Dalaran Aspirant don't count as Beasts even though they ride horses.
It's only a 4 mana 7/7 if you topdeck and play it in the same turn. Would be really bad in the opening hand. Like Nerubian Prophet, this doesn't trigger the turn it's drawn.
Probably gonna go with this. I've always wanted drawbacks in the hand, and this seems like a good opportunity to do it. The idea is that in the long run, you're probably gonna be paying more than 7 mana, but the immediate 4 mana 7/7 is enough of a reward and the distributed cost is less detrimental to overall tempo.
Will that trigger the turn you draw it if you draw it at the start of your turn? When do start-of-turn effects happen? Before or after card draw? I forget.
Nerubian Prophet doesn't trigger the turn you draw it, so neither does this :) so it's a 4 mana 7/7 only if you topdeck it and have the time to play it that turn.

Nice post, although you forgot overload on Jade Claws.
The way I think of it, once you hit 5 Golems, the average value for all Jade Golems summoned this game is positive. In most games, the jades go way higher than 5, so the mechanic is undercosted.

Any more thoughts? I will move host over to Imgur when I submit.

How does this look?
Better art for the token would be much appreciated. Also, I will move host over to Imgur when I submit.
