I haven't been very active on hearthpwn lately, but I still logged in regularly and I am sad to see it go. Looks like I'm not gonna finish my long term goal on this site.

AsherWare posted a message on 1600 dust, legendary or 4 epics?Posted in: General DiscussionRemember that we're only a few days away from a lot of cards getting buffed. Unless you have something really specific in mind I'd hold off for now on crafting. For all we know Pocket Galaxy or one of the other buffed cards might become really strong in the meta.

laadeedaa posted a message on When do you rope an opponent?Posted in: General DiscussionQuote from Ace100ace200 >>If someone ropes me turn 1 and turn 2. I will rope them for the rest of the game (almost). I HATE getting rope early. There is just no reason, so I give them a taste of their own medicine. They will start playing faster REAL quick after that! Otherwise, I only rope if I actually need to think or if I need to grab a beer lol!
That sounds childish to me. But if it helps for you, sure. Do whatever you like.
Thanks for the advice Mom!

Shatterstar1998 posted a message on Weekly Card Design Competition 9.19 - Submission TopicPosted in: Fan CreationsThis card recreate the Fel Stalker unit in Warcraft III has the Mana Burn ability that burn the enemy unit equal to their mana. Gameplay wise, it's a great card to pressure control deck by mid-range and aggro decks by forcing them to either take damage or play inefficiently.

endlesstides posted a message on Best card pack opening in the Rise of shadows expansion.Posted in: General DiscussionNot exactly RoS but I just casually bought a single Rastakhans Rumble pack with 100g and it had 3 Golden Cards in it. A Golden Arena Treasure Chest, Spirit of the Lynx and a Bloodscalp Strategist (which I'd legit forgotten existed) so kinda lucky. Right?

I would put higher priority on sets that are rotating less soon, because you'll have them in your collection for longer. In this case that probably doesn't apply, because the power level of witchwood isn't super high

Anybody who is saying that Grumble is not the problem because he hasn't seen play in the last few months doesn't remember the Raza nerf

I disagree, I think it would definitely be worth the swap

Good choice bro. I've played since Karazhan, and didn't craft Patches until midway through Un'goro. I really regret waiting so long because since crafting him I've used him in probably 80% of my decks

To echo what others have said, it's definitely worth it to get Old Gods packs until your first legendary, but not after that. Buying packs to get specific epics is not a smart way to spend gold.
Can someone check my math? I think I'm wrong, the final number seems too low but I'm not sure why:
The chances of getting an epic in a pack is 1/5. There are 54 epics in the Old Gods expansion.
1/5 x 1/54 = 1/270
Your chances of getting exactly Vilefin Inquisitor in any given pack is 1/270 (???)
