Frustration is understandable.
Entitlement as a reaction is not.

Play whatever you want in casual. The game is pretty much a 1 player game against a computer with the inability to chat. So treat it as such and make you gold

Several theses:
- An incredible number of people claim they play "homebrew", "fun", "meme" decks in casual. Yet, I never encounter those, or very rarely.
- I don't play shit decks in casual, not even "memes" (and then cry why I can't win, previously assuring myself and others I actually don't want to); but I do play off-meta decks, or decks with certain deviations, like Hooktusk Rouge, Silence Priest, Aggro Overload Shaman... and much, much more in Wild casual.
- Therefore, I actually like facing meta decks in casual. Off meta decks are usually stronger than meta decks (albeit too polarizing for meta relations). Some of my decks destroy Rouge or Warrior, but lose vs. other average decks.
- So, I don't mind playing vs. strong stuff in causal. Power is cool and fun. And i shiver much more when I face off-meta than meta decks. They are more unpredictable and potentially stronger.
- A claim about lack of variety in casual is just not true. There's much more variety in casual than in ranked, even if that sometimes means you're just facing more different meta decks than in ranked, haha.
- I currently find Wild casual the best mode in HS. I have so much fun there. Variety is extremely high. Shenanigans... Sure, people play strong decks, but I WANT to play against strong decks. You play vs. strong decks (because of matchmaking which forces you to face successful decks in casual), but you'll hardly face the same deck / archetype more than twice. Ranked Wild post rank-5 lacks this variety. Similarly to Standard, Wild meta decks often get obliterated in casual.
- Yesterday, I played there c. 30 games. Faced a lot of strong decks. Only one game was. vs. Odd Paladin, but he conceded on turn 5. Two games I played vs. Big Priest. In the first game, the guy f&c$ed me hard, but in the rematch he conceded very fast after summoning several zoo minions. As you can see, only 3 "pathetic" decks, out of 30. And I want to face more of those. It's very satisfactory to win, or destroy such decks. Oh' I forgot... give me more Darkest Hour Warlocks... They are my favorite food.
- I see myself as Nietzschean, so I'm quite immoral. I don't care a bit about feelings of my opponents in HS; like will his meme deck succeed or not. And he can play whatever deck he wants. Complaining on other people's decks makes me feel weak inside. I'm not always supposed to fight fair fights in this life; and an opponent, by playing "pathetic" decks is just openly showing his hunger for power; trying to fix it is like realigning a curvy river. Almost hypocritical. Try to present occasional unfair fights as fun. Especially if you're a "meme (=bad deck)" player. Don't complain - just win!
- Why I don't play "pathetic" decks in casual isn't because I'm obeying some moral regulations (if it's for those, I would violate them with ease), but I'm doing like that by my own characteristic will.

Its just bs. I dont play good decks in casual because i want to stomp bad players but if i wanna do my quests with a deck where i have little to no experience i wont take it into ranked and loose 3 stars on rank 3 or smth.
Casual is still a normal PvP mode just without a ranking system. If you expect to bring a tier 5 deck and the other player to let you draw 30 cards so you can pull your combo you are just delusional.
You tell me to play ranked then? Well i would tell you to go play a friend or the innkeeper.
BTW i enjoy bringing trash tier decks into casual from time to time aswell and its fun to meet other such tier decks but i wont whine because i lost to a better deck in a PvP game.
2
It's the fact 90% of the time in Casual you face literally almost the same decks as in Ranked.
Which is pretty much exactly how it should be. Casual means "Unranked" (in juxtaposition to the "Ranked" mode), not "Place for Only Janky Homebrew Decks and decks that my Tier Z creation has a chance to win..."
It is completely expected and acceptable for Casual decks to pretty much mirror those found in the "Ranked" mode.

The criticism of casual mode can be summarized as: 'I want to play bad decks, but I want to win with them also'.
2
The beauty and downfall of Casual is that everyone believes (and technically rightly so) that the mode belongs to them to play whatever they want.
However, this also means that some people also seem to think this means that they can decide what others should be allowed to play against them as well, which is much less the case.
People whine about Netdecks (me included at times) because it's frustrating to see the same decks repeatedly and losing in the same way each time (which is actually the fault of both parties: the opponent for using a deck that everyone uses because it's easy and overpowered, but also the player for not bothering to build something that counters the deck they are expecting to see, and then being upset when they come up against it).
It's all about entitlement, essentially. Players are naturally entitled and expect the game to work the way they think it should - usually that means offering them some sort of underlying advantage.

As for what i enjoy facing in casual, basically anything that allows me to play my deck.If i do my thing but lose anyway, so be it. I had my fun, i did the interaction i was hoping to make, so i am satisfied.
Losing to a spamming 'i will be your death' or 'greetings traveller' before i get to even play my deck is not fun.Ok sir, you won.I hope your sore from ranked b*tthole feels better now that you won my meme deck with your S tier deck.
Literally any deck 'allows you to play your deck' though? Whether you face a control warrior, face hunter or meme priest, you can still play your deck.

Incidentally, I only play casual when I have a quest and I concede when I get it done. But if there's anything I hate more than casual, it's people being hypocrites.

cant handle all this salt, its burning my eyes.

why pseudo-echo? its just echo, without the keyword.

more rewarding system is the best thing that could actually get me playing more. 10g for 3 wins just means that i will only log for quests and thats it, no incentive to play. either make packs cheaper and dust cost decreased, or seriously up the rewards of playing.

quoting myself because there is no other post in this thread that is actually relevant to the OP. I believe the reason for that is the slow decline of aggro decks, and the rise of other slow/combo decks on the ladder.
Holy wrath paladins instead of Odd Paladins, the rise of Control Priest to counter all those hunters, Odd rogues are slower than ever right now, Odd Warriors are countering some other fast decks on the ladder.
All these are factors as to why a combo deck with an "I win" condtion no matter the life total of your opponent is going to rise when the meta finally slows down, just like what we are facing now. Oh, and the fact that people want to try out new decks while the meta is slow is another huge factor, trying a slow deck just for fun in a really fast meta where you never get to pull the combo isnt fun at all.
Anyway, i dont think there are TOO many of them on the ladder, and as other people have mentioned, come April we are replacing 3 sets with 1, and i doubt that we'll get so much removal in 1 single set, to offset the loss of 3 sets, so Mecha'thun decks might have problems in April, maybe make a comeback in exp 2 or 3 of next year.
Those are my thoughts on your question, and on a sidenote. I agree that these decks(skill or no skill) are "toxic" or whatever you want to call them. Any deck that doesnt contest the board in any way feels bad to lose against(Quest Mage, Freeze Mage, Mecha'thun decks now), as they often give you the feeling of hopelessness, "i couldnt do shit because the kept removing, and then they just won without actually doing anything on the board". And the times you do win against them, you are like "lol hurrdurr that guy didnt stand a chance against my board". The human brain clutches to bad experiences however, and thats why you feel like they are so bad to play against. Its just a phase, always at the end of an expansion cycle we have cancer decks of all sorts, remember last year's cancer Cubelock? Well its that time of the year now, but at least no deck is as broken as original Cubelock.

and everybody is discussing about how toxic or not toxic is this deck. other people just discuss what does a combo deck mean, while other like me are passing by looking for an answer as to:
Why are there suddenly so many Mecha'thun decks?
Which is the original question the OP asked and is still probably unanswered.

yeah, he should include a paladin odd card in his even warrior deck.

this. so much this. i mean i stalled his whole game out with me control warrior deck, and he beat me with rexxar...
