Dude the real answer to this is that ppl who run aggro decks are noobs, or at the higher levels, try hards. They arent playing for fun. The noobs are playing it bc aggro decks are cheap on average. The tryhards are playing aggros bc its the fastest way up the latter and in theory means you could go the furthest down the latter bc its faster and you can pick up more wins. Either way, it sucks for the people who want to make their own decks and play ranked. I go undefeated on casual but i take a homemade deck and faggro decks are alqays there ruining the fun

cant handle all this salt, its burning my eyes.

more rewarding system is the best thing that could actually get me playing more. 10g for 3 wins just means that i will only log for quests and thats it, no incentive to play. either make packs cheaper and dust cost decreased, or seriously up the rewards of playing.

"I do think that it's a toxic deck"  "but that's not why I make this thread"

and everybody is discussing about how toxic or not toxic is this deck. other people just discuss what does a combo deck mean, while other like me are passing by looking for an answer as to:

Why are there suddenly so many Mecha'thun decks?

Which is the original question the OP asked and is still probably unanswered.

quoting myself because there is no other post in this thread that is actually relevant to the OP. I believe the reason for that is the slow decline of aggro decks, and the rise of other slow/combo decks on the ladder.

Holy wrath paladins instead of Odd Paladins, the rise of Control Priest to counter all those hunters, Odd rogues are slower than ever right now, Odd Warriors are countering some other fast decks on the ladder.

All these are factors as to why a combo deck with an "I win" condtion no matter the life total of your opponent is going to rise when the meta finally slows down, just like what we are facing now.  Oh, and the fact that people want to try out new decks while the meta is slow is another huge factor, trying a slow deck just for fun in a really fast meta where you never get to pull the combo isnt fun at all.

Anyway, i dont think there are TOO many of them on the ladder, and as other people have mentioned, come April we are replacing 3 sets with 1, and i doubt that we'll get so much removal in 1 single set, to offset the loss of 3 sets, so Mecha'thun decks might have problems in April, maybe make a comeback in exp 2 or 3 of next year.

Those are my thoughts on your question, and on a sidenote. I agree that these decks(skill or no skill) are "toxic" or whatever you want to call them. Any deck that doesnt contest the board in any way feels bad to lose against(Quest Mage, Freeze Mage, Mecha'thun decks now), as they often give you the feeling of hopelessness, "i couldnt do shit because the kept removing, and then they just won without actually doing anything on the board". And the times you do win against them, you are like "lol hurrdurr that guy didnt stand a chance against my board". The human brain clutches to bad experiences however, and thats why you feel like they are so bad to play against. Its just a phase, always at the end of an expansion cycle we have cancer decks of all sorts, remember last year's cancer Cubelock? Well its that time of the year now, but at least no deck is as broken as original Cubelock.

    Quote from ChildOfTheAtom >>

The problem with Deathstalker Rexxar isn't that he's overpowered. It's that he lets you build a 29 card deck to win fast games, then wins slow games on his own. That's bad card design.

this. so much this. i mean i stalled his whole game out with me control warrior deck, and he beat me with rexxar...
