posted a message on Beast hunter OP

Neat deck, but IMO it is a little under optimized to get to legend. Getting to legend is all about consistency and midrange hunter needs to be consistent. This deck lacks that due to a few things: 1) too many beast synergy cards 2) poor curve 3) too many traps

    1) this one is pretty easy to fix, ram wrangler is a poor choice. You have no 4 drops in the deck and shredder fits the bill nicely. Also, at least one of the traps (probably freezing) can be dropped in favor of getting a better curve, maybe loatheb, belcher or another strong 4. Without getting too much into the issue with ram wrangler, the real reason that it won't work in the long run is simply because there will be far too many times that you have will have no beast to proc it's battle cry. When it works, it can be a great card, but consistent it is not.

    2) as above, the middle drops 4-5 are really lacking with your only drops being cards that require other cards to be on board. Stronger drops on their own would produce more consistency.

    3) traps. 4 traps is too many outside of lock and load decks and with only 1 bow you really are not getting a lot of benefit from running tons of traps. In the current meta I would suggest dropping at least one trap for a better curve or, if you want to keep 3 traps, drop one for a second bow.

Source: made it to legend with midrange hunter the last 4 months.

    TLDR: deck needs better consistency.

with a halfway decent mull for the priest, shaman shouldn't have much of a chance in my experience since they have a really hard time coming back when priest has a solid board as lightning storm is pretty crappy against 4-7 HP minions while holy nova and light bomb are both really strong versus shaman. The decks play similar game plans, but shaman's almost always revolves on keeping board control the entire game

Druid should be favored simply because of the burst. Paladin has to do the trades while druid can go face for the most part, savage roar is scary and paladin isn't running many taunts atm.

The problem isn't that Shaman is bad atm, its that paladin and priest are horrible matchups and are everywhere atm

posted a message on Rank 20 to #1 Legend in 4 days of TGT [Deck Lists]

To be fair, there is a ton of luck involved in HS, more than in many other cardgames I might add, but that does not mean it is purely luck based. What Flood mentioned about mulliganing is super important to success in HS. If you mull incorrectly for a certain matchup, probably you already lost the game. I find a lot of weaker players really struggle with this concept. The other things I often see mistakes with pertain to play order, sub optimal plays and not correctly predicting what the opponent could/will do to punish said play. These things are not luck, they are basic card game skills.

Now, rank 1 legend is a little bit of a different story. I have tried a few times, best I managed was around 25 or so at the end of season 8 (?) iirc. Blizzard's MMR system is complete shit and rewards streaks far more than it should. That's why you see players around the top not really playing much in the final 2-4 days after hitting a really nice win streak into the top 5 and being pretty much unmovable from that point. IMO, they need a new system in place for these top rankings.

Got to legend this season with miracle priest (actually really strong in this token meta atm) and deathlord priest, which I wouldn't recommend atm. Currently top 100 with dragon priest / miracle priest.

posted a message on So... How good are we here at hearthpwn?

totally depends on how much you play.

If you are playing 250+ games a season, you should be legend without a doubt.

If you are playing 100-150 games, rank 1-5 is probably a good goal.

posted a message on Hearthstone cards that would be OP in MTG and vice versa!

Most of the overpowered creatures in HS would be horribly OP in MTG and in general we get more stats per mana in HS than in MTG.

From MGT, other than horribly broken stuff like time walk/warp mentioned above, I think the most broken card in MTG that could actually be printed, or at least the mechanic could be printed on a card, in HS would be Fastbond. I could see a warlock card that came out that allowed you to play for cards in life instead of in mana and it would be OP as fuck.

posted a message on King Krush - Doesn't actually fit in any hunter play styles
    Quote from Primalthirst jump

I feel like King Krush can have value in a mid-range Hunter deck simply because of the surprise factor against Control decks.

I've lost 2 games to King Krush in the last 2 weeks because I completely didn't expect it and so didn't play around the possibility at all. I've been sitting at 8 Health and chosen to not Armor Up because I know the Hunter is out of Quick Shots and Kill Commands and have had the big bad dino come down and ruin my day.

That might be too niche of a situation to warrant regular inclusion, but if you're looking to take people by surprise AND get one of the best entrance animations he can be worth giving a shot.

Running it in a deck and getting it from Webspinner are two totally different things.
