posted a message on I might just be an Hearthstone scumbag

Reading through this forum and others. People seems to believe that the right path to play Hearthstone is among other thing a non-emoting player playing only homebrew midrange(pleb)/control(elite) deck in constructed. This is not how I enjoy this game. And I like playing in a way that seems to be frowned upon (not that I care). I might just be an HS scumbag.

    Proof #1 - OTK deck

I like deck that have a win condition, I really enjoy playing with/against OTK. Some of my favorite cards of all time includes Mecha'thun, Malygos or Ice Block. I like playing those Exodia or 100+dmg OTK decks and playing against it is relatively easy either with Tech Cards or specific Decks (see #2 & #3).
My favorite OTK decks of the moments are:
    - (std) Gallery Priest (T1)
    - (std) Miracle Druid (T2)
    - (wild) Fast Thun Renolock (meme)
    - (wild) Draw-Freeze-Burn Mage (homebrew)
    - (wild) Malygos Druid (T3)

    Proof #2 - Aggro deck

Like it or not I do like aggro deck as well, I like going all-in the first turns and fast game, especially when I don’t always have the time to play (when I have to go to work or during a coffee break). I don’t mind playing against aggro deck because when I lose it’s fast and I can move on to the next game. And if you break their momentum, well, you have won.

My favorite Aggro decks (only wild)
    - (wild) Pirate Warrior (T2)
    - (wild) Pre-nerf Odd Rogue (so long old friend)
    - (wild) Aggro Kingsbane Rogue (T1)

    Proof #3 - Mill deck

Mill deck are my favorite deck of all time. And (control) people seems to hate it deeply :/. I assume because of the polarized matchup. I actually like to play and tech against my polarized matchup and winning those games takes skill (and a bit of luck).
I mean winning against an aggro deck with a mill deck is the BEST feeling ever.

(also Coldlight Oracle being HoFed out of standard was one of my saddest HS moment)

My favorite Mill decks (only wild)
    - (wild) Corpsetaker Mech Mill Rogue (Homebrew)
    - (wild) N’Zoth Mill Rogue (T3)
    - (wild) Mill Druid (T3)
    - (wild) Mill Mage (meme)

    Proof #4 - Midrange/Control hate

Midrange and control seems to be everyone favorite playstyle...

I despise Tempo/Midrange decks which usually comes too playing minion on curve and out tempo the opponent. It does takes skill but is boring as fuck. (go play arena that’s the same IMHO).

I hate no-win-condition control decks.. Looking at you Odd Warrior doing nothing but armoring up and clearing the minions.. What a game, playing for 40-f**ing min before losing.. Thanks, but no thanks. Same goes for Quest Priest. Actually one of the reason I started to play Mill and OTK decks.

    Proof #5 - Netdecking

I don’t always have a lot of time (father and full-time employed), to stay up to date with the meta I do netdeck then I might start tweaking those deck according to the local meta. But lot of people have spent time refined those deck and If I want to go to rank 5 as soon as possible and fool/memeing around the rest of the season, it is easier to netdeck what is OP. On top of that playing a (net)deck allows to see it’s weakness which is useful for when you’ll play against it.

    Proof #6 - T1 decks in casual

I don’t like quests. I don’t want to be forced to play a deck I don’t enjoy. “Playing 3 dragon” or “3 win with Hunter” means I’ll use my T1 decks in casual to be done with it. Sorry, but again, not enough time to play stuff I don’t enjoy.

    Proof #7 - BMing

Emoting seems to trigger some special snowflakes, it’s part of the game. It’s a game about a f**king battle between heroes… bming adds to the atmosphere in my opinion if you don’t like it just squelch your opponent. I do some soft BMing as well (see my comment in “Do you BM?” A Hearthstone Confessional)

The only thing I’ll never do is to rope on purpose, I don’t have time, I won’t waste yours.

    Conclusion

I'm sorry my way of playing this game impact negatively yours, but suck it up and play whatever makes you happy.

Actually, because of the upcoming nerf to Cold Blood to 2 mana, Blizzard will have to change Deathrattle Rogue whizbang deck recipe, because it has Keleseth in it.

Exactly, when a nerf impact a deck receipe it should be changed. I'd be shocked if they kept Prince Keleseth with the change to Cold Blood.

So I don't understand why some people don't see the issue with keeping nerfed card which impacts the deck. And I'm not talking about being less competitive but about having a lower deck synergy.

Deck receipe should give the newcomers an example of deck building with synergy in mind. And Whizbang the Wonderful is there to allow them to experience those decks.

I hate shaman so i'm happy about this.

It's objectively a bad day for the class in std though. And also I'm stunned about the fact that Big Priest have avoided the nerf bullet again.....

Even paladin recipe has been updated after Call to Arms nerf to 5 mana. Whizbang wasn't released back then, but still, it proves that they do care about their deck recipies more or less.

     This guys is right imo!

Deck receipes have in the past and should in the future be changed after the nerfs. If odd paladin was still a deck receipe I think they would have updated it with the change to Level Up

I don't see why it should not be the case with other synergies. This does not mean the deck should always be competitive but at least not be anti-synergetic (?)

As a side effect this would impact Whizbang

posted a message on Is there a "Dad Infinite"?

Dad legend means no time to grind more than r5 because I have children.

There is no grind in arena hence it doesn’t make sense.

posted a message on Cards that no one cared about and now are meta

For me the perfect example would be Hadronox! One one my first 5 legendaries released in Frozen Throne, it was classified as utter trash.

I'm glad I didn't disenchanted him because 2expac later in the Witchwood area after even paladin nerf, Taunt Druid was the hot thing and ruled the meta and never really left since then (up until last December I mean)

posted a message on which matches you enjoy the most?

Mill (warlock/druid and of course rogue) against any greedy control or combo deck.

You want to be greedy? let's mill that shudder/Lyra/any DK/win condition of you, and die of fatigue damage. shall we?

posted a message on What is the established build of Reno Mage?

My two cents, I play Reno mage marginally. Funnily enough in my build I use 2 ice block (the only secret) and arconologist/mad scientist allow singleton consistency.

Also I tend toward a big spell build with Alanna as win condition.

Also have played with more minions and Luna pocket Galaxy. Not really viable though but really fun!!

posted a message on What’s your biggest VanCleef

I was playing a wild game with a meme deck (tempo mill rogue, yes I know this doesn’t make sense).

and I managed to pull out a 20/20 Edwin VanCleef, the biggest i’ve ever made. That’s 10 cards played during the turn (and Edwin being the last one oc).

Btw the mage player insta-polymorph'd it :/ :/

so I'm wondering: Rogue enthusiasts, what is the biggest Edwin vanCleef you've created? :)

    20/20 Edwin
