    Delete my account/posts/ban me, whatever.

The OP should be attacked. Campaigning for nerfs with no evidence given ought to be a warn-able offense. I demonstrate to the community why that guy ought to be ignored... a long history of stupid ideas. You then delete all of my posts and give me a warning.

You're totally ridiculous. You guys have no idea what a competitive community is. You just want Blizzard forums 2.0.

I appreciate you endeavoring to respond to such a hostile post, but I think there has been a misunderstanding.

New players needing/asking for help are not scrub posts. Those are new players asking for help. That's awesome. I like helping them.

"Scrub" is a word that defines a self-imposed anti-competitive mindset. In fighting games, we see this manifested by people insisting that some moves/characters/tactics are "cheap". In RTS, we see crying about rush builds. And in CCG/TCGs, the call of the scrub is most clearly heard in nerf-herding and complaints about net-decking.

Most people find this site due to its robust net-decking tools, yet people actually register to the forums and complain about net decking here. This is akin to walking into a coffee shop and telling the customers that people that drink coffee are bad for the beverage community and ruin all the fun for the tea drinkers. Think I'd get away with that in Starbucks? Yet the staff let's people get away with it from some reason.

Although some nerf/OP threads are well thought-out, they are very, very unusual. The overwhelming majority of them are simply just whining. No actual evidence is given. No stats are offered. We even get people here arguing for nerfs based on lore reasons, for crying out loud. It's just mindless complaining.

Just on the main page... this one has been floating around for three days now. There is absolutely nothing constructive about it at all. It's a whine both about mill druids and net decking:

    http://www.hearthpwn.com/forums/hearthstone-general/general-discussion/29434-do-any-druids-not-playing-fatigue-decks-exist

This is not the first "zomg nerf stuff" post from this guy. His posts have a surface amount of reason to them, but there is never any real evidence posted; just emotional arguments and logical fallacies.

    http://www.hearthpwn.com/forums/hearthstone-general/general-discussion/29762-next-series-of-nerfs

This sort of nerf-herding is just toxic to a competitive community. You can't allow this sort of nonsense and tell me you're into community building.

Compare this to how things are handled at SRK, the main site for competitive Street Fighter. Scrub posts don't fly there. There is a newbie dojo there for new players to ask questions. Trolling the newbs is dealt with harshly. But if they show any start of scrubiness, we patiently explain to why they have an anti-competitive mindset and if they're serious about playing these sort of games, they ought to reconsider it. The idea of giving a user an infraction for calling someone a scrub is simply ridiculous. Calling a scrub a scrub is a statement of fact. Getting someone out of such a mindset is such a liberation it can't be understated.

Here... this forum doesn't discourage people from being bad. It doesn't encourage them to grow as players. It sure as hell does punish players for pointing out scrubby behavior. This isn't community building. This is bad for the competitive environment, and bad for the player base.

This site could be the amazing. It could be the doorway to competitive play for the Hearthstone community. But you guys aren't letting it be so.

This is not designed to be a snarky, pissy post, I'm being serious .

There's a lot of nerf/OP/fuck this card threads, and for each of them a substantial amount of posts condemning the thread for being pointlessly negative, salty, or just unwelcome.  So....maybe we could get a sub-forum whose sole purpose in existence is this kind of thread.  Then, people who are grossly dissatisfied with some aspect of the game would have a dedicated outlet for their irritation and people who bemoan such threads wouldn't have to read 'em.  Sure, it would become a cesspool of rage pretty fast, but that would be its purpose in being.  Pissed off at the game?  Wade on in and shout with the rest.  Hate nerf/op threads?  Stay the hell out and you don't have to deal with them.  Seems like win/win to me.  Plus, if someone who usually doesn't like that kind of complaining lapses in a rage because (insert card here) pisses them off, they have a place to blow off some steam and come back to the remainder of the forum without that on their chest.  Might even lead to more productive posts, who knows.

I tried getting the mods to do something to discourage scrub posts months ago. They won't do it. They want to make the forum friendly to timmy the nerf herder.

You have to understand, the point of hearthpwn (and other curse network sites) is to farm advertising hits. They aren't here to foster a competitive community, or any real community for that matter. Don't expect them to change.

You're much better off moving to another forum. This place is good for laughing at scrubs, but not much else.

What if you could search before making a new thread? People make a new class ban thread every week.

Hint: it's a really bad idea. Both your idea and not searching.

Nobody even needs Hearthstone, it's a game!

9 deck slots. I can live with it. No observer mode, still doable. But you take my Hearthstone and I will stab someone ! :D :D

Why would you necro post this (bad) thread to post something so trite?

If you're bumping up 4-month-old posts, you better be solving world hunger.

Witopia works here, you just have to get with tech support and make some custom gateways. It also helps if you're on fiber. My VPN connection got a lot more stable after upgrading.

posted a message on Everyone is still a netdecker...

if you don't like net decking, you shouldn't play CCG/TCGs

or stick to playing with scrubs

    what's particularly troubling:

you registered an account at a net decking website, then started posting about how you hate net decking

If you hate net decking so goddamn much, why are you here? It's like you just want to be angry.

    Couple things:

    1) University internet in China blows. It's usually harder to have consistent connections abroad on the university internet infrastructure than the northern or southern network.

    2) Astrill is really hit and miss. I recommend getting a proper paid VPN if possible. Witopia is good to me. My roommate swears by Express VPN.

    3) Those of you in Beijing, we have Hearthstone gatherings at Paddy O'Shay's every now and then. You ought to come by. Do you have WeChat? I can add you to the group.

I play from China as well. I don't usually have problems. I'm in Beijing on China Unicom fiber with Witopia VPN, using a PPTP connection. I can usually play without a VPN, but then I can't watch youtube on the second monitor.

posted a message on do any druids NOT playing fatigue decks exist anymore?!
    Quote from igniteice »

EVERY, and I mean every last one, druid I've encountered in the last week, is playing a fatigue deck -- running oracle, naturalize, grove tender, tree of life. I would LOVE to play against a druid who has actually come up with a deck of their own. Do they exist anymore? This game is nothing but deck copying. All decks I play are 100% unique, my own combinations. They aren't even slightly based on a deck I saw, they're based on me throwing cards together and finding out what works. I hover around rank 12-14, but I have fun playing. But it doesn't help when people ask streamers like Amaz or Kripp what they can do to get better and they respond, "Find a deck on a website and play with it." Really? Is that what Hearthstone is about? Where's the variation? Where's the creativity?

I think you're looking for this thread:

    http://www.hearthpwn.com/forums/hearthstone-general/general-discussion/28947-group-therapy-need-to-blow-off-steam-are-you-mega

    Please don't whine anywhere else.
