I beat a couple of Quest N'Zoth Priest with bog standard Control Warrior (i didn't even bother to update it with the new Wild stuff). Honestly the match up wasnt as hard as i thought it would be. I thought the new Wild stuff would give Priest an edge in the long game in the same way that Warrior removal cant just keep up with all the infinite engines in Wild but 2 Brawls 2 Warpaths and a Plague of Wrath lined up nicely against Priest's power turns.
I guess i underestimated how passive that deck is until they drop Mass Rez and N'Zoth/Seance
people ask for "Silence then kill" cards whenever sticky deathrattle minions have been dominant and have for a long time. Like since the days of Piloted Shredder meta. It's also what made Psychic Scream strong too, since it was that particular effect in theory
I hope we get some spot removal with that effect in this set. That spell at 9 mana seems unwiedly
Art changes are probably an esrb rating thing so it's like whatever. I like the new Headcrack tho, and im getting a kick out of the weirdos crying censorship or communism
I definitely bought into the Varian Wrynn hype hook line and sinker back on TGTs release. It only took a couple of games to realize that he was just a huge liability in the Control Warrior lists at the time. Either you plopped him down after aggro or midrange decks had ran out of fuel (and any other late game finisher would have served the same purpose) or you just dropped it into a board wipe against control decks with the side effect of putting you 3 cards into fatigue! wow!!!!!!
the weakness to OTK decks seems to be kind of overstated. Mecha'thun decks are extremely weak accross the board so you rarely see them, and Togwaggle is probably the weakest variant of the current crop of Druid combo decks. This has been my experience so far hovering around Rank 5, maybe things are different up in legend or lower than that tho.
Even then some of the bad matchups you have can be skill intensive for the opponent, so with some luck you can squeeze out the occasional win. So far the only encounter i've had with an OTK deck this early into the month (as in one that bypasses piling up a ton of armor) has been a Topsy Turvy priest that dinged up the sequencing and then conceded. I even beat out a Quest Rogue yesterday on the back of the other player making a lot of mistakes piloting the deck
Odd Warrior is a decent deck, it's just not a meta-breaker one so if you are trying to climb with it you are going to have to make some meta calls every once in a while
Deathwing is usually going to be just a big lump of stats so any other minion with big stats should do. Alternatively the second Blood Razor or the second Brawl are decent options depending on what decks you are getting matched up against. Remember to avoid putting tech minions like Spellbreaker or MCT because they screw with the recruit gimmick
I think the issue with Tarim is not so much the ability as it is that he is undercosted for what it does. The main point of comparison would be Eadric the Pure, which costs 7 mana while having the same statline, no taunt and an arguably less powerful, or at the very least less versatile. Eadric is pretty much just a Control tool while Tarim can slot in almost any Paladin strategy
In any case a Tarim nerf would probably be a lot less warranted if Call to Arms wasnt as absurdly powerful as it is. Love to seal games on Turn 4 because my opponent had to use like 3 cards to deal with my one
The only legitimate way to play this game is for both players to honorably pass each turn until turn 10 when I can drop Sindragosa + ping one of the 0/1s
Counterspell also loses a lot of utility if your opponent gets the Coin and also rewards smart play from both players (either knowing when to play it to get the most value out of it or knowing how to play around it).
Ice Block on the other hand has very little opportunity cost since you can play it pretty much at any pointin the game and it'll give you an extra turn. There's almost no counterplay to it as well since there's only 3 secret hate cards (2 in Standard) and all of them are garbo against decks with no secrets. You are going to get that extra turn almost every time
Rin can give you an edge in the Cubelock mirror. Other than that she can be there as an additional 3-power minion to be pulled out by Oakheart in case you've already drawn or played the 2 Voidlords. She's more of a flex slot for the most part tho, tech her in if you are running into a lot of other Cubelocks
The main reason Rin has been seeing more play is largely because she gives you a the edge in the Cubelock mirror, and Cubelock seems to be pretty popular in ladder currently. She's definitely one of the flex slots of the decklists

this thing reminds me of Memory Jar a bit
not that i think it'll be as warping as Jar was since theres far less combo applications in HS but still, pretty neat, pretty strong
