and..., well as I said... this is an explorative deck. At this point, I really don't think a hunter burn deck is viable. Perhaps an Aggro deck that focuses more on powerful beasts, but not burn until they add a more powerful line up of spells.
Was fun to try at least. Update: One thing to note. the Gladiator's Longbow + Hunter Hero Power (2 dmg), could do a solid 7dmg per turn. If you could keep the enemy minions under control, I guess there is some SLIGHT chance of solid success with this deck. That being said, the BURN phase would be delayed a little too much, having to get to 7-9mana first :(
...I don't like to have defensive minions in a burn deck, you need to kill fast or the big minions will overrun you eventually...
That is precicely the problem with attempting this burn deck on the hunter. There are not enough heavy hitting spells to exploit. Really given this exploration of a deck, I think that Hunters will be limited more to an aggro deck that focuses more on buffed up, powerful beasts. Granted the Hunter Hero Power would be a nice addition to a straight up burn deck.
So, I have been meaning to try and compile my first constructed deck and here it is. I am very fond of the pace setting Hunter hero power, that can ensure constant pressure on the enemy hero. I wanted to use this as a foundation for a burn deck. For those that are not too familiar with TCG "lingo", a "Burn Deck" is one that focuses on dealing as much damage as possible as quickly as possible, this is often via the use of spells vs minions.
This deck is focused on utilizing Hunter spells, with a defensive line of taunt minions to keep the hero safe while devastating the opponent with spells. The Gladiator's Longbow is also a significant defensive part of the deck.
Now, I am sure this could be improved dramatically. I am also certain that many of the cards will be changed and tweaked during beta. The viability of the deck is questionable at the moment, it may be tough getting enough damage done to the enemy hero quick enough with the current spell-set. That being said, I wanted to attempt a Hunter Burn Deck regardless ;)
