I agree that burn is fundamental for this deck. So is + spell damage to boost it.
Really you are looking to do as much damage as early as you can and then finish off mid game with burn and Avalanche(s).
The other keys I find are:
you need to win by about turn 8 or so, odds of winning after that drop drastically
due to the limited amount of burn you can include and play by turn 8 you have to really focus that and your boosted Hero Power on 1) Face or on 2) taunt minions preventing effective attack damage
card draw seems very important unless you luck out with the right cards early, so play around Elemental Allies to bring the burn cards in, consider more draw power
getting Animated Avalanche in play (x2) early with Evocation can be a death blow (theoretically as early as turn 2), be mindful of saving an Elemental to play the round before you can play Avalanche to get it's twin
get Fire Hawk out on turn 1, don't wait for more attack, he's too vulnerable
protect Fire Hawk, Arcane Amplifier and Avalanche with Mirror Image, good vs attacks and random destroy effects
boost your burn and hero power whenever possible
For me, Lackey (specifically Rogue) and Embiggen Treant decks do the best against it as they are best able to neutralize the early minion aggression. Without inflicting early damage it's very hard to do enough midgame. Unfortunately, there are a lot of these decks right now.
This deck is pretty darn cheap to make. It just seems one dynamic short of being viable as it is currently too streaky... I feel bipolar playing it. Maybe Khadar for Avalanche or Luna for draw, neither of which I have so I can't try. Let me know if anyone figures something out.
I am having trouble making it consistent. It is very streaky for me. It does very well if you start with the right cards. After about 20 ranked matches at rank 9-8 I am right back where I started.
Rogue seems to handle it the best. It also does need card draw for sure.
I made a deck similar but a little different from yours. I don't have Dragonhawk for one.
You should consider calling it Face Mage ;)
How often do you get Zeph to go off with that many duplicates?
What about Animated Avalanche perhaps? IF he's used up all his creature control on your early aggressors two of these guys could be tough to deal with.
I have only played 3 games so far and 2 of the opponents quit early.

I will keep trying as it's fun and new.
I took out spirit of the dragonhawk already. May go back in. Chenvalla may go as well. Avalanche stays for now.
I thought about Luna too. I think she should work. But I don't have her so I can't try.
Azure explorer seems a great add. Sometimes the dragon she discovers is the end blow.
Just switched to play ranked and it has started out 6-2 at rank 9-8. Lots of "wow" comments.
I can get some more games in later but it seems quite strong.
Wow, great turn 1.

Right. I missed that it was an Elemental. Thanks.
Firehawk has attack equal to hand size. I play it in my Highlander deck. I have also added Amplifier to try him out.
I think I will try to make an Elemental deck again.
How did you play it turn 1?
