Im just curious what people think. How many cards will be correctly identified as powerful before release.
Correctly identified or correctly identified as powerful? Not to mention what is "powerful"?
Thats another good question, because in the past cards were said to be bad, and then used a lot.
It's difficult to say. Cards could be bad, for that expansion then get enough support afterwards to see wide spread play. Hell look at farsight. That card has been hot garbage since beta. It wasn't till literally shudderwock that it started seeing real play, at least as far as I remember. I think there are few cards that are just outright bad. I think mostly it's A. The archtype for it doesn't exist yet, or anymore (in standard). But I won't rate cards bad just because they don't see a lot of standard play. My personal opinion is if the card is seen, even in low tier decks then it's "playable".
Here is an example, Windshear Stormcaller is pretty bad, Hard to set up and the payoff isn't game breaking. But if we ever got a hero card that says that every time one of your minions die it becomes a basic totem then that card could very well see play. Even if in wild.
But I digress. It's really difficult to make a call on this because the over reaction to cards here is real, in both directions. But I think about 20% of the cards that are considered good will see play in tier 1(or 2) decks.
