First, I would like to say that I am a veteran Magic: The Gathering player (since revised edition). I have been to various PTQ's and have done really well but my ADHD kicks in and I never stay or do stupid things after going 4-0 at the tourneys. So I have a really well foundation of card game strategy and techniques.
I just started to play Hearthstone a week ago as I thought the game would be dumb and didn't bother using my beta key I got weeks ago. After seeing the streams via Twitch, I decided to give it a go. Within the first 20 minutes I was highly addicted and loved the game. Then decided to buy 80 packs, as I love creating weird decks that aren't played in meta. I got the 'Lord Jaraxxus' card within opening the packs and wasn't sure how the card would play. So I added it to my warlock deck and played my friend. When it came into play and change my hero, I was shocked and also thought of the crazy possibilities which could be done. Below is what I have tested and found out:
1) Lord Jaraxxus is a demon, so you can actually kill him (and your opponent with Sacrificial Pact). Which *might* be a bug because the thought of killing an opponent with a zero cast card and in 1 turn of summoning him is pretty OP. Then again, you NEED to be a warlock and have the card to do this. So I suggest for all warlocks to KEEP your 'Sacrificial Pacts' in your hand just you are versing a warlock that plays Lord Jaraxxus.
1a) Any card that can copy or clone opponents cards, the player playing against a warlock should try to clone the pact and keep it at bay.
2) Mage secret 'Mirror Entity' - This will clone Lord Jaraxxus the creature but his battlecry will not activate. Therefor your mage's hero does not become Lord Jaraxxus and you will only have a cool 3/15 demon on the field.
3) Priest's 'Mind Vision' will allow you to copy Lord Jaraxxus from your opponents hand and give you the copy. When used his battle cry will activate and your priests hero will become Lord Jaraxxus. You will also gain the passive to create an infernal.
3a) This will also work with a Priest's 'Thoughtsteal' as per part (3) above.
There are a few more tricks I want to test out and will post my findings later. Keeping them a secret until then and I hope you enjoyed my post.I will also be posting a funny deck that has been winning for myself. You will not find my creative decks being played in play mode as I practice with other MTG players to come up with wicked combos and might hate me for posting our findings. Until then, cheers!
Your argument seems pretty flawed and bias towards a minority of card stealing Priests.
1. Sacrificial Pact is the risk in playing the card. Just like playing Alexstraza on your opponent and them getting cheap Molten Giants. Risk vs Reward.
1a, 3 and 3a. Is basically the same statement, Priests can copy your cards and use them against you. Thats the same for all decks with a powerful minion - you arent really saying anything that isn't implied by the cards themselves. All you are saying is that you are scared of Priests.
2. This is not a risk. OMG they have a 3/15 and you get Jaraxxus which is comes with a weapon, the ability to summon 6/6s for the rest of the game and a heal to 15.
Sorry but Jaraxxus is a powerful card. Just like Arathi Battlemaster it gives a weapon, like Alexstraza it can save your life, it gives you the ability to summon 6/6 demons for the rest of the game and coupled with all that power he gives you cool emotes.
Im not saying the card sucks, I am just saying its not the greatest card. It's 1 card in your 30 card deck, cost 9 mana. If you don't draw it, it's a dead card. At the same time, I still play the card in my deck because it is a game changer when you are in a hot seat. I would say the card is on par with Pyroblast as once again, if you top deck the card, it is a game changer.
Also the post was more about having fun with the card when playing a warlock that uses it.
jaraxxus is easily one of the best legendaries in the game, if you play him when you have the board its autowin
the copy argument is bull, maybe you shouldnt play any good cards at all, that would be great against a priest. I prefer a priest to get Jaraxxus over something stupid like ragnaros or alexstrasza because jaraxxus needs more card support than ragnaros pr alexstrasza that you can just throw out there
sacrificial pact is situational and intended
mage secret is situational, how easy is it to check anyways. paladin secret also sets health to 1. snipe also does 4 damage
1) This is not a bug. Lord Jaraxxus replace you. So you become a demon. The card say "destroy a demon" and not "destroy a demon minion".
1a) Well, to get Sacrificial Pact with the actual "cloning" cards and using it on Lord Jaraxxus, you have to be in a big lucky day... Your opponent must have it first (it's not an often card played) and also Lord Jaraxxus in the same deck, AND play it in the same game. You don't play a drop 9 card every games but well, you can keep it or kill a 15+/15+ Void Terror or a Flame Imp if you have only 2hp left, or ...
2) Lord Jaraxxus battlecry is... a battlecry. And like every battlecry, it activate only if played from hand. You don't have to test it to know that.
3) Same as 2... Of course it will work. The card don't say that you have to be a Warlock for the effect to work.
3a) This will work with every card who let you play it from your hand. And for every battlecry effects of the game.
So ... YES, Lord Jaraxxus is one of the most fun cards (behind Gelbin Mekkatorque and Angry Chicken maybe ? That's your choice) and also one of the most powerful cards to play. It put your life to 15, it gives you an awesome weapon and let you invoke a 6/6 minion for 2 crystals every turn. What do you want more ? $100 and a Mars bar ?
Thank you for your intervention, veteran magic. But, did we really needed it ?
Why the hate, guys? Looking for every opportunity to show off how leet and pro you are? I've found the information interesting and useful, so thanks to OP for that.
yea it's op. i wish they would get rid of the 6/6 ability of nerf it, its bad enough he's got a 8 durability 3 damage weapon.
Nobody is going to be able to clear 6 Damage plus whatever else is on the board (which more than likely will be 2 or 3 more minions since 6/6 only cost 2 mana
Blizzard balance testers need to just try and beat someone with LJ, hell you can even give yourself a 40 Health bonus, just see if you can beat him :)
its a 9 mana card and his hero power doesnt come into play till 2 turn after he is play you just have to kill him b4 that hapeen which isnt hard if you maintain board control

Nozdormu wins you every game where you opponent has to go to the bathroom on turn 9.

"If you don't draw it, it's a dead card."
You mean like every other card in the game?
Don't forget Sense Demons as the only tutor in entire game!
