Blizzard said they were about to make tournament mode but opted for Brfawl first, as that was more unique and the public was wanting unique elements. That means they have a Tournament mode in the pipeline.
Just a matter of waiting and making sure blizzard knows we really REALLy want one (note they don't read these forums)
Constructed Arena (or should i say Netdecking tryhard same bullshit) is a bad idea. They better spend their time and money on something more unique in this game.
If you watch my posts, I tend to have two suggestions that I feel must both be implimented:
1. The tournament mode. yes, Super tryhard same bulls**(# mode.
2. Custom mode. Picture instead of notCasual (or as a mode beside it) you get rooms similar to the custom map setting from SC/WC fare. You not only can set up tables that others can then see publicly (or you lock up privately and invite others) but you also get table lead control over it, being able to customize the game, being able to add, remove, or change cards at will. Ban classes. Ban Dr. Boom. Change Varian to 1 mana. Put rules on what decks can have. So on.
No rewards, but featured to help find and organize friends or others who are just interested.
THe idea is to use the Inn theme we have and set up a system similar to those comic store pick-up casual games physical card players experience, where they can make homebrew setups and make everything from friend group ups to makeshift in-game tournaments.
So folks who want to just play a few games, especially on mobile, or who are pushing for blizcon play Ranked. Testing of such decks is in Unranked (new name for current Casual), Tournament mode for tryhard folks like myself who don't have the time or dislike the grind, and Casual for ..well. actual real casual play.
Arena stays as the 'odd RNG filled place that's THE place for collection building', and Brawl becomes a testing ground for blizzard to test with or just troll people with. Tournament will have a limited # of games so most 'tryhard' play will still be Ranked while most casual play will be in ..well.. casual. Unranked will be the most drained but MEH, no loss if that dies out.

...I mean -- why doesn't that exist, when we have Arena drafts already?
This game really lacks exactly that; A constructed tournament mode of the same quality as the (draft) Arena.
