Share your experiences and try to come up with and discuss the best way to maximize your daily gold gain. I read somewhere that people can get 1k gold per day? I found that absurd since it's essentially 1 gold per win with a small handful of daily quests, but since I'm basing my ideas off what I'm seeing on streams and not personal play (I don't own a beta key sadly) so yea.
I wouldn't want to stifle conversation about this topic, but gold returns for specific activities is subject to change over the course of the beta. The average player will likely want to just focus on completing dailies.
The arena may be a great place to hone your skills and obtain cards since you get 1 pack minimum and dust. But you cannot come out ahead on gold unless you perform very well (1-6 wins is negative gold, 7 wins to make 0 gold, need 8 or 9 wins to come out ahead).
Then arena is $1.99 to enter, packs that are bought 40 at a time are $1.25. So I don't know how many wins you need to make the 74 cent gap in gold, but whatever it is you need to average that many wins or higher for arena to be efficient for farming (plus the additional small margin of gold that could be earned playing for free that you're not earning because you're in the arena. IE if your average arena run takes an hour... and you could have made 6 gold playing in free matchmaking during that hour you have to consider that).
Arena should be played for fun because you enjoy that style of play. I wouldn't suggest grinding out arena if your end game is gold for packs. Just buy the packs directly.
1 gold per win + 40 gold per daily will take probably 3 days to gain the 150 gold you need to enter arena. At one arena per 3 days you probably aren't going to get good at it quickly. For 100 gold you could have just bought a pack outright. Meaning any time you enter the arena using your method if you win less than 5 games you lost gold (since you need 5 wins just to cover the 50 extra gold cost to enter the arena).
The arena is not an efficient "free to play" method of filling out a collection. Don't play arena unless you enjoy it.
I had 96 arena wins before I failboated under the 150 gold re-entry fee.
Which was apparently enough wins to build a good enough deck to get to 3star master. I want to arena again so badly, but it takes a hell of a long time to get gold once you stop win-streaking in arena ~_~

I only played 2 arenas and won both 9-1.
Ok but you do realize for every win you got, someone else lost, right? The average entry into the arena will not even recoup the 50g they gambled by entering. Since the game is based on skill (both while playing and knowing which cards to draft) some players can reliably use the arena to farm gold. Most, however, cannot.
Maybe you will 9-X every time you enter. But your sample size is small and is certainly not indicative of what the average player will accomplish.
you can also complete a lot of daily quests in arena as well. some of it relies on RNG though. if you dont get the class in arena which you need for your quest then you are out of luck. also, some classes just dont transition well to arena most of the time.
i think that the entire premise of how much gold you can earn in a day is faulty. IMO i play a game for entertainment. the playtime in arena is worth something to me. there is no one answer. as i see it there will be many types of 'hardcore players':
1) you hate arena and love constructed: as someone said, get a job and buy packs. mowing someones lawn will give you more gold/hour than anything in game.
2) you love arena and hate constructed: choice is obvious. do daily quests and buy into arena. if you have the money then buy into arena if you need to.
3) card collectors: if you just want to collect stuff.... really just buy. if you are a broke collector then you are a walking contradiction.
4) people who just enjoy playing: do all daily quests every day and buy into arena with gold. the time/gold reward is the greatest.

That's a good, simple guide to know where to get your first packs and gold.
Watching some beta footage, arena doesn't seem so hard to get at least 5 wins.
