I don't know if I'm imagining things, but I feel like I'm losing skills in Hearthstone. 5 months ago I easily went rank 4 for 2 seasons without playing too much . Know I play a bit more but I can't reach rank 9... I play mostly shaman so it's maybe because he is bad in the meta right now. I'm trying to tech my deck to beat hunter and mech mage but still I can't pass rank 10. I know there is some legend shaman so I know it's possible. Maybe I'm not concentrated on the game like before, I often play on autopilot while watching a video. I play priest too but not too much because he is too bad in meta. I play a special mage of my creation too, I created it so I know it's not specially good
I also stopped playing fore 1 months after GvG but I can't understand how I lose skill in only 1 month! Does anyone have the same problem ?
Playing on autopilot is for sure not a good thing, which can low your performance on the game. But I also imagine that the Hearthstone community is playing the game "better", some because they learned more about the game (mechanics, etc), others because they are net decking and, because of that, not using really terrible decks.
As for my personal experience, I'm achieving the same as before, no upgrade or downside, even though I'm not playing the game that much as I used to.
You are not losing skills, people are gaining skills and cards with amazingly fast pace.
A year ago, a good deck would get you to rank 1 in the first 2 days of a season. Now that's not true because millions of players play the best decks, have all the cards and have watched all the plays from streamers.
give yourself some time.. learn the meta, tech properly and learn the new combos/cards (5 months ago this was a whole different game, ruled by deathrattle hunters and priests) also shaman isn't bad in the meta (not the greatest either tho) but a proper bloodlust shaman deck should go a long way edit: in hearthstone skill = knowledge since you stopped 1 month before gvg, to catchup now you need to learn all gvg cards and all new meta decks/playstyles and tech according to what gives you biggest trouble edit2: you might find this helpful https://tempostorm.com/articles/the-meta-snapshot-11-blackrock-mountain-approaches
I just dropped from rank 2 to 4, after a fairly steady climb. The reason was mainly being a bit tired and not having played for 3-4 days.
I believe it is best to stay with one deck, and learn e every matchup with it. Then, I find I need to get in the "zone" to play cleanly every move. I found that watching educational streamers and tournaments with commentary is a great warmup for ranked. You need to consider your plays, your opponents deck and possible counterplays, your best chance to win and maybe even which cards you think he holds. All this is not easy, with any deck, but if you succeed, the stars will come! Forget about bad-beats, I do not think any deck has a 70%+ winrate in this meta.

edit: in hearthstone skill = knowledge
since you stopped 1 month before gvg, to catchup now you need to learn all gvg cards and all new meta decks/playstyles and tech according to what gives you biggest trouble
