Yeah the guide was originally meant to set out all the rules for Cockatrice players and to fill in what Blizzard hasn't or other places don't. I am trying to avoid making it completely comprehensive, but never hurts to add more.
From Blizzard, you opt-in to the beta and they give keys out in waves until the closed beta is over. After that, there will be an open beta to anyone who is interested. There are also fan sites giving away beta keys. Otherwise, you need to opt-in and wait for the invite.
Silly question, but does anyone know if beta keys have been going out to mac users as well? I know HS will be available on mac, but if I'm better off running the system tester on my Windows laptop than the mac, I'll do that.. :]
This guide is 100% legit. I spent two days going through ALL of the blizzard blue responces to make sure this guide could be used as a reference. All the information here is correct and I check it every time darhoth says he updated it.
1.) The change you made about Innervate also needs to be made regarding the Coin. (This one I actually checked to make sure in-game by stalling against an easy AI. Playing the Coin with 10/10 mana fizzled the coin.)
2.) Nourish at 10 mana also fizzles if you use its Choose One ability to pick the Gain Mana Crystals version. Assuming this is intentional, then you should just pick the Draw 3 version instead. (http://us.battle.net/hearthstone/en/forum/topic/9754065871#1)
Basically, I believe that Excess Mana was specifically created just for Wild Growth because Wild Growth is the only card that would be a complete waste at 10 mana. It was never intended to be a general mechanic for replacing wasted mana crystals.
I notified him of this and more but he's currently in vacation and also in beta when he's not, so it's taking him some time to update the post. It will be updated as soon as possible. Thx for your input :D

There is no Mac beta keys there is only Zuul.
Wait wrong script *tosses out*
I'm in beta and on a Mac. I am one of the Mac Tech Support MVPs so I kinda need to have one :P

Playing right now :)
Yeah, I am having to play on my macbook pro this weekend. It is SO ANNOYING, the HUGE cursor on the mac client. You should probably contact your connections and tell them to fix that dam GIANT cursor on Mac!

I'm sure they know about it already.
Knowing about a bug is completely different from fixing a bug. I don't work for Blizzard so I can't force them to fix it. Neither do I have access to the source code so I have no idea how easy it is to fix.

yeah, I was being semi-facetious as well as venting my frustration. So you are experiencing the same issue with giant cursor?
I would assume/speculate that it is just an issue when they ported the code over to mac, and what we see is the "full size" cursor. Probably a missing "resize image" function or something of the like.
can you (or someone else) explain in more detail what happens if you return a minion to someones hand? what is the corresponding card to a minion?
for example i would like to understand what happens in the following scenario:
a priest plays against a druid.
druid has "druid of the claw" in deck. priest plays "mindgames", and the "druid of the claw" card is chosen. because "choose-one" effects count as battlecries, they are not executed for the "druid of the claw" minion the priest gets on his side of the battlefield. now the priest plays "youthful brewmaster" and takes the "druid of the claw" in his hand. which card does he get?
a) the "druid of the claw" card, that gives him the choose-one choice?
b) a "druid of the claw" card, that has neither one of both choose-one effects?
if instead the druid played "druid of the claw" and "brewmaster" himself, he would get the card corresponding to his chosen version of the "druid of the claw", right? not the base card that lets him choose again.
Choose one is considered battlecry in all rulings so if a choose one minion was mindgames'ed it would come without any choice a 4/4 without charge in druid of the claw's case. After choose one is picked the minion counts as "transformed". Transformed minions (eg: hex) will be returned to hand in their transmorfed state. They will no longer be able to back to their original state even if silenced. So if a charge druid of the claw was returned to hand it will no longer ask a choice when you play it again, it will come as charge form. If a druid of the claw was silenced it will lose the charge or taunt but not the life or form. (I'm actually not sure about life)
I love having beta :D just cehecked in practice mode the life stays. only taunt is silenced. :D
cool thanks for checking!to clarify: the druid of the claw summoned through mindgames is not really "transformed" (just 4/4 without charge or taunt), but you don't get the choose one after returning it to your hand, either?
that means, there are 4 possiblities of druid of the claw cards you can have on your hand (ignoring different manacosts):
Oh yeah I forgot to say it. If nothing was chosen like summoning through mindgames then returning it to hand then replaying will trigger the choose one. I thought you meant if the druid returned it to hand after playing it. So the 4th option is not correct, the 3 are all there is.
Bookmarked for later reference, good stuff. Cleared up a few questions I had from poking around streams and youtube today.
Have to echo what mechler said about adding a section about the arena and some of the other features, if possible.
