Seriously though, I have played 5 Murloc Warlock decks today. I haven't see any decent ones in a very long time, but 5 in on day? It's not even that they are bad, they are actually quite strong, before I realise whats happening that have 4-5 super buffed up murloc's on the field and nothing but a strong AOE can save you if you fall being. I ad fun playing against something new... but I also lost 3 out of the 5 not expecting so much so fast?
Anyone else seen the huge resurgence? I have never tried playing it but what do you guys think, is it viable?

It was actually a thing, in fact it was a powerful thing around this time last year. The classic start of the Aggro decks centered around those murky creatures. Enough of me sounding like an old goat, i say if you can make it work again why not. Viva the Warlock love.
I haven't played much ladder today, but man do I miss Wurloc. That was so much fun to play! I would be pretty happy to see them come back, but I don't think they're strong enough. Could just be freak coincidence

I don't know, that many, 5 in a day. I would be easier to accept if it was in casual or even low ranks but this is Rank 7-5 lol. Every one just blew my mind because the first couple turns were just life taps to I was thinking Handlock, oh boy was I mistaken. Then on like turn 4 they would start laying them out, in one turn he laid out 4 Murlocs and the way he used Youthful Brewmaster to double summon the buffing one... On board had a 6/5, 5/6 5/4 and ol murk eye was like a 7/5... all in 1-2 turns, then the following turn he dropped a Sea Giant to top it all off. lol. The worst part was that I was playing druid with the only AoE being swipe, lol.

It might have just been a fluke or like maranpaja said, but it actually seemed to do really well. Anyways, just a warning be on the look out for it. It's like zoolock but with some super buffable murlocks.

I am more concerned about the strategy change of the Murloc-warlock deck. You said that they don't put pressure until turn 4, and explode out of the gate by deploying multiple threats and buffing them. They even go with Youthful Brewmaster for the bounce. A new midrange strategy, perhaps? Or is it just me no playing enough hearthstone? :P

I think it's a real possibility, like I said this was in ranked, and not the super low ones either. It is quite strong in warlocks, with the stealthed Imps and direct damage spells to keep the board under check with Doomguards for burst finish. Any left over card slots use Darkbombs/Soulfires/Power Overwhelming, and anything else you might think goes well in it.
Oh and don't forget the Sea Giants, because you can play out so many minions so quickly they become cheap pretty quick. Take a look at the image DKnG posted, thats pretty much how it plays out.
It's strong against quite a few of the meta decks including Oil Rogue, Priest, Druid, and several other decks. I would imagine it's strong against any mid-range and control deck that doesn't have many massive AoE clears. Aggro would be a bit more tricky, but it plays just like zoo with the potential for MUCH bigger buffs that a standard zoo build. I think it's only bad matchup would be MechMage, would need to test it more to know for sure.

I'm having moderate success (about 50% winrate, maybe less) with my murlocK deck (check it out in my profile!), but as AdorableQuokka said: "you either win or lose quickly, and often spectacularly".
Btw I liked Mesmerizeer's comment on the possible new strategy ("They don't put pressure until turn 4, and explode out of the gate by deploying multiple threats and buffing them. They even go with Youthful Brewmaster for the bounce.), maybe I will give it a try!
I've faced a few murloc warlocks recently too, plus a couple of murloc shaman and even murloc priest :/
All i know is, I was quickly overwhelmed by the warlock versions, could cope with the others, don't know what they were at but it didn't work out for them. They were trying to do too many things at once it seemed. You wither go full murloc, or not at all.
The warlocks though ... dang, they can overcome you very, very quickly if they draw good from the off. Plus, you're not expecting to face them are you? We're all geared toward anti-mech lately. I hope it doesn't become a thing again, because I bloody hate murlocs!
What ranks are we talking about? Cause even my MurLock was rank 9 with no difficulties, and it had felguards. In fact, the secret to a good murlock deck is - the less murlocs you have, the better your deck is :p
I saw one at rank 7 today. Got rolled by turn 5. Figured it wasn't my day by running into, what I thought at the time was, the only person on the whole server running murlock. Logged off right after.
Back in the time that murloc was a thing i used to run a rogue murloc deck.My love for murlocs is so big that i named my blog and my team Wasted Murloc Gang.

I am guessing midrange strategies are trying to take over more than just the resurgence of murloc in midrange style. I personally piloted Oil Rogue and lost quite a few times against hunter/warlock/mage with a midrange strategy instead of "just another aggro deck with a clunky start". Maybe people really got fed up with the aggro meta and try to break the mold.
With the announcement of the new adventure, I am guessing people are more willing to try things out before the meta shift yet again by additional cards to the card pool. This might lead to more players to set aside their ranking goals and try "one last time" to create something different. While this is just a wild guess by me, I have experienced this quite a few times in my M:tG life.
But of course, this is all just a guess.

I use it to complete quests.

Oh but when he says it's a fluke you take his word! I see how it is!
And yeah that would be a bastard to face as Druid hahaha
