So I am sure everyone whos been playing a while has noticed that setting your game to casual means you play against people who just started playing the game. Unlike previous editions of the beta where casual appeared to use your rating still, current casual is the very definition of the word. I used to use casual to test decks, tonight I wanted to test if Hunter could be made viable with the ass kicking Mages got recently but all I got matched up against were people playing decks made out of the basic set with no expert cards at all. Now I can understand a need for true casual play, its a way to build knowledge and XP to level 10 - but we also need an outlet to test ideas without the fear of losing rating. Or am I alone in the darkness without any watchers? :)

Nozdormu wins you every game where you opponent has to go to the bathroom on turn 9.
I actually thought "casual" or practice mode got a lot harder recently. I'm usually a arena player, but recently i kept hitting 3 quests from not enough time to arena, and doing quests in casual mode seemed harder than back when I played in 3s masters.
I prefer with some kind of MMR (and I think it still is) to match me to people that are of like level. Beating up on newbs with little to no cards yet is no fun.

It can go the other way too. The other day I played someone who had Ragnaros, Sylvanas, Alexstrasza, Cairne, and a couple other legendaries in their deck.
There is an MMR in casual, at least there used to be when it was called 'Unranked'. It is separate from your ranked rating though, so if you haven't play casual much, it will be down in scrubtown. For various reasons, I played a whole bunch of casual. I won like 20 games in a row. Now almost every match is pretty much rank 10+ level with hordes of legendaries. I don't win much anymore :O
All applicants for the beta has received their keys today and there is a huge amount of people trying out. Naturally, matchmaking system a little bit off balance but don't worry; as you win games you will face players who are at the similar level and new&inexperienced players you defeated today will start to match up with new&inexperienced players, as well. As a 1-week player, I can assure that I knew the system and I didn't bother my first ten games were 1 win and 9 defeat. Now I have wins and defeats while trying out new builds, new classes and decks.
Could be true.. at least every quest i got this last week that involved beating people x times with a certain class meant i won all of my games with that class in casual every time.

I have played some inexperienced players in casual, that's for sure. I don't think it's fair for them to face me.

'Casual' indeed.
