When you want to play a game you a presented with 3 options: Play, practice, forge. Play is the regular random matchups against other players, practice is vs AI opponents either normal or expert difficulties. Forge is the third type of play avaliable. For play and practice you can make the deck you want over a long period with the cards you own. But forge doesn't require you to own the cards you want to play with.
First off when you enter forge you make an on the go deck. You are given 3 hero options and you have to pick one of the three. Once you've done that you are given 3 card options. You pick the card you want then get 3 more card options. These options are all random and will continue until you have 30 cards. So you will be presented 90 cards and pick 30 out of them one at a time. The cards represented are random but they follow some restirctions. They are mainly common and basic cards. The chances of getting anything better is the same as getting one from a regular booster pack of cards. Now there are some details on when you get common or better and when you get basic but that is not important at this point because I'm sure in the alpha stage thats constantly changing.
You can't just enter the forge though you have to give it an entry fee. At first they said it would be 3 card packs, but when they intoduced gold they said you will enter it with gold. Right now it's uncertain what willl be the entry fee but there will definately be one. The reason there is a fee is simple. The 30 cards you picked, you get to keep as your own. These cards you now own can be used to make your play and practice decks but not your forge decks. So basicly there is a card you want to have and are saving up dust to enchant, you can also hand pick it from the random 3 cards you are presented. It's still random but you have 3 times the chance to get the card you want that way as well. Now a few cards you might pick to keep and not because your forge deck needs it; but blizzard wants you to mainly pick cards to make a good forge deck and doesn't want you pick all 30 cards with the idea to own them in mind. So you might be asked to win at least 1 game to keep the cards you picked but I'm not entrily sure on that.
What happens to the forge deck? Well it becomes the deck you use in forge battles. It's like regular play but you get semi-random cards instead of your owned cards. You play against other people who made their deck the same way. You can play with the same forge deck until you lose 3 times with it. Then you have to make a new forge deck. Not only that but if you win 5 times you get and extra card pack. For every victory there after you get a card pack with 2 packs on every victory number divisable with 5. So 2 card packs at 5, 10 ,15 and 20 and nothing for 1,2,3,4 while the remaining victories give you a single card pack. 20 is the maximum number you can get to as far as we know.
To have a forge battle you have to have a forge deck. You can't use your regular deck for forge. Thats the whole point of forge, to make a better deck than your opponent with limited options.
I hope this helps. If you have further questions I'll gladly answer them.
Wow... You really know stuff. This answered a lot of questions I had in mind.
Thank you very much for your kind and detailed explanation.
I just need a little more clarification on the number of packs I get after winning 5, 10, 15, and 20 games.

With English being my second language, I sometimes have problems getting the correct meaning.
So, I get one card pack for every victory, but two packs at 5, 10, 15, and 20?
And what do you mean by 'nothing for 1,2,3,4' ?
Again, I really appreciate you helping me with this. :)
They actually clarified that earlier, that was a misstype. you only get a single extra pack at 5, 10 , 15 and 20th victories. If you win once u get nothing. if you win twice you get nothing. Same with your third and fouurth victory. But on the 5th victory you get two card packs. Then on 6th,7th,8th and 9th victory you get a single pack for each. On the tenth you get 2 packs, so on an so forth.

I have a question regarding Forge.
Well, what is it exactly?
From what I gather, you have to pay a fee to enter it. Some say you pay some gold and some say you pay a few card packs.
And you are given three cards each turn and choose one until you choose 30.
So, is it the only way to compose my deck?
If not, what do I do with the deck made in Forege?
Please help me understand guys.
