Since GnG came, ive tried many types of decks. Aggro, Control, Zoo... across several heroes (Rogue, Warlock, Hunter, Mage) and i just can't seem to find one that works. I've tried creating my own, I've tried a few with tweaks (from what cards i have) from the ones posted on here.
With rush decks I always seem to be one turn (enemy hero less than 5) from finishing them. With control decks im struggling to hold off even a balanced deck.
I just can't seem to find any rhythm at the moment, and can't even get above rank 18 at the moment with any of these decks, when before i was comfortably sitting between 11-14.
Could anyone give any general advice with how to think around the current fluid movement in decks? Cheers.
If you want to be competitive and really climb the ladder. Do like 90% of the rest of the world and just netdeck. You probably won't be winning from the start because you need to learn the ins and outs from the deck. But stick with it and you will win. Also I would recommend sticking with 1 class and really learn the weak spots. If you find yourself loosing allot from a certain deck. My advice would be you copy that deck and start playing it.
Its easier to find weak spots in decks when you experience them yourself. I dont know if its good advice but thats all I can give you.
Try out some different subtypes. These are my favorite
Zoolock: basically midrange warlock, there are a fewsubtypes of these
Tempo Rouge: both Aggro and Control style with small sticky minions and efficient removal with cards like sprint to cling on later in the game
Bloodlust Shaman: Control with Bloodlust and the Doomhammer, Rockbiter Weapon combo
The biggest thing is finding a deck that you really understand. I prefer a control deck with possible aggressive plays. Find everything you like in a deck and try to make it work. If you aim to play a deck, it has to be YOUR deck. This doesn't mean no netdecking, just that it should be understandable to you and fun to play, in fact I recommend playing as many different decks as you can craft until you're sure you know what style you really know. I hope this helps.
The point that most resonates with me here is when CarrL says a deck should be "fun to play". This is why I play HS, yes I'm eager to climb the ratings and do want to reach higher than 20 - on a regular basis, not drifting back down to 20 all the time as I currently do! - but making decks that will be fun to play is more rewarding than only with a view to winning.

OMG I JUST BEAT AN AGGRO SHAMAN!!!!
That is honest: excellent advice.
For aggro mech decks I would suggest using Fel Reaver as a finisher if you already aren't.

Yes please use Fel Reaver, my freeze mage absolutely loves it when you play this card :)
I thought Freeze mage was dead. Enjoy your free Legend then ;)
