Yogg is a comeback mechanic. You don't play him unless you need to.
If you are desperate enough to play him, it's because there's no way out of the situation you are in without him. In that case, realistically speaking you have already lost the game, and Yogg is just one last-gasp effort.... a "Hail Mary", if you will... at a chance for victory.
The thing about the card, though, is that the odds are in your favor for a good outcome. You aren't just throwing out this last desperate plea to RNGesus with 50/50 odds. If you are playing Yogg, you have a good chance to receive a favorable outcome.
Or, to paraphrase all of this and quote the poster above me...
"When in doubt, Yogg it out."
