Yes, it's better for those noobs that needed to craft 40k dust reno decks and play 30 minute games in order to win in the past. Now, with the current system, they even don't have to win anymore.

Well FTP is pretty screwed, I've played continuously for 3 hours ranked and I got 7 xp per minute.
For level 16 and the 100 g reward I need 2400 xp.
2400 / 7 minutes = 342 minutes (~ 6h) required to get the 100 gold reward from level 16 through grinding. Before the patch I was able to grind the 100 gold cap with aggro in less than 2h 30m (with conceding against priests and slow decks).
You WON'T be able to get the same rewards with the SAME time invested as before the battle pass.
Have you taken in account of the 14800 xp you can get from completing darkmoon faire gameplay achievements?
i just wanna do my daily quests and occasionally try to rank a little bit. i'm sorry if -after years i play- atm i don't spend hours every single day playing some sh*tty meta or farming gold in friendly like a monkey. i'm a f2p player and i was able to play a new expansion at day 1 opening at least 70-80 packs saving gold from day after every release. it seems i will not be able to do it anymore
Personally, I much prefer it. One of the things I've struggled with in this game is long term engagement. The daily quest system was drab and offered little incentive to play for long.
I don't play games to number crunch and min max whatever the in game currency in. If I'm not having fun, I stop playing, it's really that simple. If I'm having fun then I'll typically support with micro transactions etc until the point comes where I'm no longer interested, at which time I will stop playing.
This system gives a much better sense of progression, I love the opportunity for new skins etc and that this is the main benefit of the paid track. Having weekly quests is much more engaging and I'd like them to introduce monthly ones.
If you login once every 3 days to do the 3 quests and then log off, are free to play and have never supported the game and don't intend to then I'm sorry but you're the least valuable consumer of the product. If you leave, the game really doesn't suffer that much. At least with the F2P who grind a lot are providing consistent and regular match ups etc. If you play 5 games every 3 days and it's a chore rather than because you want to, what on earth are you even bothering for anyway? I don't understand this logic in the slightest, just do something that you do enjoy with your time. If a game experience is miserable for you, why continue and whinge? Just leave, if it's not for then it's not for you.
As I said, I'm personally really happy with it, I don't expect Blizzard to cater to me specifically, my needs are very different to someone else's, they have to try and appeal to everybody, not just an individual. Most of the critisicm I see completely disregards this and people seem to take it as a personal attack on them. If you don't like the new game mode, don't play it. Not every single piece of content is designed with every type of consumer in mind. If you tried to do that, you would fail because the difference between a very casual F2P player and a hardcore grinder that puts money in is so different that it isn't often you'll make a decision that is a hit with both of those groups as well as everyone in between.
If you've ever had to make a decision that affects different groups of people, you will know that you'll consider all you can but ultimately have to make the decision that benefits the business and it simply isn't always possible to please everyone.
Even if you give away free things you have people complaining about people getting an easy ride when they themselves put in lots of time etc. Just go and look at the kick off in some threads because they've released an old card back or something. This game has a very self centered and selfish player base that I've seen posts saying if a card back or hero skin is made available again for players who weren't around when they released, then that person is going to leave the game. They'll stop playing the game because of a cosmetic skin that came out 4 years ago. It's truly pathetic really.
Just take a second to consider the bigger picture, see things less selfishly and yiu might understand better why a decision has been made. You can still not like it and that's fine but at least bother to play devil's advocate for 5 minutes before acting like the developers of a free to play digital card game have personally insulted you and your family because they are trying to engage their player base in a different way. They obviously want this to be better, time will tell if it is or not but is far, for me at least, it's much better.

Because I can own T1 noobs with T2 decks whenever I want. Or said otherwise: Because I am more SKILLED than you at the game.
