Warrior continues to fall in popularity. Third most played deck across all ranks according to Vicious Syndicate. Looks like it lost some of the "brainless" players who realized control isn't easy.
The win rate drops the higher up the ladder you get, too. The easiest control deck ever can't get above 52%, how brainless.
But that's just the opinion of a so-called warrior fan boy "masquerading" as a hunter main.
A deck's power never exists in a vacuum, and if it did then it would be a moot point: every match is a mirror match when you only look at one deck. Otherwise, this logic would apply to combo priest, murloc decks, anything with absurd standalone power, and no one seems to be concerned about aggro dominance as long as Dr. Boom exists above or in tier 2. It's a preference at that point, not balance. The game achieved balance by knocking warrior down with super aggressive decks.
And, for like the gazillionth time, yes, it is a matter of preference. I cannot claim to know the feelings of the entire player base, but I know there are a lot of people who prefer not to see Dr. Boom, Mad Genius anymore. These people do not universally hate Control Warrior, so it's not about the archetype. It is about that one specific card. Balance is not the only reason to nerf or remove a card. it is one of many reasons.
Yogg-Saron, Hope's End was nerfed because of the way people felt about it and because of the way it affected one single game in one tournament. It had absolutely nothing to do with power level or statistics.

Ok so... we agree this is a matter of preference, just not on to what extent Boom should be changed. I can live with that; I don't think it's anything to keep banging on about. And sorry if I wasn't getting it. People get so upset about stuff like this (not you, you were pretty much fine) it's hard to slow down and really read their points.
Also, I think as long as they have Tess (who Blizzard said is supposed to be the new Yogg - a card that itself can't continue to cast spells after death) and Yogg's Box (Yogg without the ability to cancel itself), he should be unnerfed. And I thought he was nerfed because he was hated by pros the most? Idk, maybe I don't remember correctly.
That being said, did you see the nerfs they just announced? I think they're all really good, except - and don't laugh - I think they didn't do enough to Boom. He shouldn't have Blast Shield, full stop. They did hit Luna's Pocket Galaxy right back where it belongs, and Conjurer's Calling isn't such an early game threat, which is nice. I don't think this will change things drastically for warrior, but we'll have to see how the next few weeks go after the nerfs. turn 7 will certainly look different for warriors. Maybe they hold the coin for Tomb Warden now?

I also like all the nerfs except Boom. That piddling change does absolutely nothing to address any part of the real problems with the card.
