For those who may be unaware, the current Tavern Brawl is "By the Power of Ragnaros" this week and the concept is that you create a deck and at the end of each turn, your cards get reduced in mana cost by 1. All good.
I'm wondering if there is some lore that I am missing or something. Does Thaurissan have ties to Ragnaros somehow? Obviously this is a tiny little thing and it's purely out of curiosity's sake rather than anything that I am interested to know.
if im not mistaken Emperor Thaurissan and the dark iron dwarfes were worshippers of Ragnaros the Firelord , part of this subline was explained in the "black rock mountain" adventure
Emperor Thaurissan says "by the power of Ragnaros!" When he comes into play
Ahhh that makes sense then. Didn't realise that. Cheers! (I often play with sound off / watching Youtube etc, so don't know a lot of the sound effects so well)

His summoning quote is a parody of He-Man's catchphrase, but I'm pretty sure most people here know that already.

Awesome! This I did not know, never watched He-Man...
I love the 'real world' parodies the Wow devs put in to the game.
Yeah, I'm an 80's kid so totally get the awesome He-man reference. :-) Just didn't realise that was what Thaurissan said when played. (The more you know... :-D )

However, what I find confusing is that this is the power granted by Emperor Thaurissan rather than Ragnaros the Firelord.

What KingSevault said. Also yes, Ragnaros and Thaurissan shares quite a lot of lore.

Basically his ancestor summoned Ragnaros, and he's a super fan.
