I’m sure that I’m not the first to bring this up, but since Blizzard is really set on fixing Hearthstone and drawing people back. Something simple I think that can go a long way to fixing some of the HS economy is fixing the gold craft/DE dust amounts.
Is it fair that crafting a legendary costs 1600, and a golden legendary 3200? Sure, it’s not ideal as a player, but it’s a standard I think everyone has accepted. What I would like to see fixed is the fact that a common costs 40 dust to craft, but 400 dust for a golden? 10x the price of the card, and if you dust one you only get 1/8th of how much it would cost? Shouldn’t it still be 2x the cost of non golden? I believe that’s way more fair. Again, regular rares cost 100 dust to craft, but if you want a golden rare it’ll cost you 800 dust, or 8x more. And if you dust one you only get the 100 dust. Epics cost 400, and 1600 respectively still a 4x increase.
i know Blizzard’s logic is to keep the dust economy in their favor like a casino because of all the “free” Golden’s they give out each month as rewards that didn’t generate any direct cash flow for them. The reality is Blizzard can not win players back to the game without first realizing they must correct the most obvious and unnecessary grabs for money.
TLDR, balance the dust economy to be healthier for players, thus encouraging more regular play. Golden card crafts should always be double dust cost and no more.
I appreciate the response, but it wasn’t very productive either way. The solution I’m offering is one that should be appealing to both players and blizzard as it doesn’t have to hurt their bottom dollar. If anything people might waste more dust crafting Golden cards. Thus resulting in more pack purchases.
They will never do anything, that will hurt their income, so I doubt they will do anything in that direction. I also wanna note, that the community here is somewhat strange. They keep approving Blizzard's greedy price policy, so I wouldn't expect any support for your offerings here. They are busy hyping for the new year even though nothing is gonna change from the consumers perspective. Still 3 expansions full of pack fillers, still 2 legendaries per class, still no new modes or achivements. The only thing we get is "new" adventures, which now will cost you. LUL
The point is, if they balance the costing of crafting golden cards, they will also have to decrease the dust given from DE. This means less dust circulating, as well as more people spending the dust they do have on commons, rares, and epics. Meaning less dust leftover to be spent on specific cards from a new set. Leading to increased pack purchases.
