we're awaiting some announced nerfs in Standard and before that, Quest Mage isn't going to work out there.
in Wild I have some success with it as it has a lot of matchups it instantly wins and some it loses ; Wild decks tend to be greedy and control oriented and Quest Mage picks them apart, though you lose to aggro a lot. it's not something I would invest resources if I'm dust-starved.

''He traded sands for skins, skins for gold, gold for life. In the end, he traded life for sand.''
Absolutely not. The old quest mage is dead as long as ice block is gone. You can still make decks around the quest but its hard with ice block gone as i have mentioned
Don't have enough support, if you don't start with the coin you have to draw and play every single card in your deck to get enough spells to complete the quest, so slow even control decks can make pressure in you before that.
Quest rogue is a 50% deck, you win 100% vs slow decks and lose 100% vs aggro decks.
Quest mage in standard is a 25% deck, you win 50% vs slow decks and lose 100% vs aggro decks, hopeless deck and I don't think this will change much in future expansions.
i haven’t played hearthstone in a few months, and i came back and instantly received the mage quest. Is quest mage still viable?
Quite impossible in standard. Tier 4 in wild.
I love the first 3 generations of Yugioh

Also, I think, Standard is lacking some of the key cards that produced additional spells for Mage. This expansion has more focus on zoo-type Mages.
No.
