Something that always bothers me when I see people talk about HS is the random hate towards X deck. Currently (Prior to Buzzard nerf), X would be either Zoo or Mad Scientist Hunter. However it's not just limited to that. I hear random hate towards things like control warrior and even various priests decks. I just don't get it. I hear people complain about how MS Hunter and Zoo are too overplayed especially by new comers or that there "Skill-less" and it makes no sense to me. Do you not want newcomers to have a competitive experience and get progressively better? Its not like those two decks are the most OP unbeatable deck ever. In fact there pretty weak decks in most cases due to how overplayed the decks are. As for things like Warrior and Priests its about how they stall out the games and aren't fun to play against. Its pointless babble that just makes the community worse. can someone explain why people do this?
You're always going to have people that complain about anything and everything, there's nothing around that.
The problem people have with Zoo and Hunter(were) are that: 1) its very cheap regarding its arcane dust cost, thus everyone starts spamming it on the ladder, it gets to the point where people get riled up just at the sight of them. 2) Against other control decks, or any deck that doesn't draw into its answers, Zoo/Hunter decks can overwhelm and snowball pretty quickly with their enormous output of damage. With that being said, sometimes people lose to those decks because they simply didn't have a chance to react and stabilize. Its human nature to seek even competition, and when something is blatantly one sided for some reason, that's where all the frustration kicks in. No they are no unbeatable, but you do need to draw into the right answers at the right time.
As for the rants against Warrior and Priest, they're just malarkey. :P Control Warrior is very expensive to build, so they're pretty rare matchups for most players not in high/legend ranks. And the hate towards Priest is just ridiculous considering Priest finally became viable after such a long time.
People get salty, get on tilt, and want to vent there frustrations out on whoever will listen. It's really as simple as that.
Most Priest complaints have been about the newer tempo priests rather than the old style control priest. So stalling till late game isn't really part of there game plan. I doubt we'll see much of the deck after the Hunter extinction since they're best match ups are hunter and zoo. While I'll agree Cancer Hunter is fairly skill-less, the mid-ranged hunter requires some skill. Zoo does require skill to play. There's usually only 1 correct move when playing zoo and you have to find the perfect balance between controlling the board and pushing damage for lethal which isn't always easy depending on the match-up/ board state.
I agree with most that has been said, this is the first TCG game I've ever gotten hooked on and really embraced learning all the nuances and actually tried to learn to be a skillful player, but some zoo decks do not require any skill And it can be frustrating to lose but if it is new players using them then they don't have much choice if they want to compete and not spend a couple hundred dollars in the game right away.
i used to play Magic every now again with my friends because they all played but I never did and never invested a dime into it so I used a friends deck that was prolly one of the most simple and basic decks there was, but if all worked out I could dominate other people even though they had 100x more experience and had way better cards, but there has to be decks like that or else new players will get so discouraged that they will not play or invest into the game. So that is why I dont complain even when it does get annoying facing similar classese multiple times, although I am very happy about the hunter nerf, because that was the most frustating streak since pure miracle not so long ago
A lot of it has to do with ranked mode and how important it is to some people. Yeah, it's frustrating to build a 'fun' deck or even just have a favorite class/play style that you aren't willing to deviate from and then only be able to play against highly competitive decks even in casual. It's honestly way more fun to just build a friend list and play against each other using decks that aren't meant for ranked. I get running for legend for a few seasons and all, but it's waaaay more fun for me to just build silly decks and play against my brother and my friends on here. That was 90% of how I played M:TG and it goes for Hearthstone too. Competitive play just isn't as fun.
Basically, every game has a winner and a loser. And a lot of the losers are sore losers. They just want to flail about and blame the game for the fact that they lost - they will simply never accept that they ever lost a game because they need to improve their play.

This is our town, scrub.

Because scrub posts are allowed here. If you don't like all the whining, try other forums.
