first of all: there is limited skill to this game, all depends if you are lucky drawing the right card at the right time, with 2's on a deck of 30 and limited drawing mechanics, the only way to lvl is playing as many games as you can. In other words forcing luck...
secondly: the computer seems to sabotage lvling at the start of season, I never but ever draw key cards in certain matchups, wondering if there is a anlysis run in the back denying you the cards needed..
thirdly: i wonder how many hackers play this game, to many flawless plays by the opponent, having all the right cards at the right moment...
Not telling the game is wrong, but for constructive play it needs a seriously revision of its safety and rng calculations, lucky wins and lucky losses are no basics for competitive cardplay, surely not if it is as twisted as computer logarithms
first of all: Deck-building is part of the skill set. If your play style requires that you get a minion out on turn 2, then you should be sure to include a fair number of 2-mana minions in your deck, and mulligan for them aggressively.
secondly: Confirmation bias. Also, having a strategy that relies on one "right card" is a weak strategy. You need to have contingency plans in place so that you always have a reasonable chance of making progress.
thirdly: There are a surprising number of ways to have "all the right cards" (eviscerate, backstab, and bluegill warrior can all be "the right card" for taking out a 3/2). If your opponent is able to anticipate your plays, they can use their cards in a more efficient manner, which will further the illusion that they have all the right cards.
At the beginning of each season #2 and #3 are going to seem particularly exaggerated because you're going to encounter a lot of players playing below their "true" rank. The bonus star system mitigates this a bit, but not much. It's mostly meant to keep veterans out of the wood league (lv. 21-25).

I consider myself a decent player, finishing around rank 5~ from season 2. However, I am getting absolutely thrashed today. Out of about 20 games, I have won 10, and out of the other 10 I have lost, I only considered luck a factor in just 1 game. The one game I consider luck a factor, I had 6 cards in the deck. I had a 1/6 chance to draw the card I needed, missed it twice and lost. Bad luck? Yes! Am I going to write the game off because I missed 1 card in 20 games, calling it luck based? No way! I am going to make sure I don't rely so much on that in the future.
Lack of belief in skill involved in the game + tinfoil hat belief that either "the computer" or "hacker" are cheating and causing you to lose = the reason you're losing.
Divert a tenth of the time you spent thinking about these paranoid fantasies to trying to actually get better at the game, and you'll win more.
Banquetto, good try, but no, been playing cardgames for more than 20 years now, i know when odds beat me and when i beat myself. But i can tell you when certain cards never show up even with only 5 cards left, that is rng if that goes 3 matches in a row, i have my doubts
When i play one of the decks of thos notorious streamers, i never seem to have the fantastic topdecks they have, is that RNG yes it is! Is that a problem no, if it happens every other match yes it is.
Been rank 5 every seasons end now, but with every reset, the game becomes unplayable for the first 10 days...
RNG is the center of EVERY F**KING CARD GAME EVER. The skill part is handling those probabilities. And lol at the "computer cheats/hackers" part.
Today is the FIRST day of the season. Most experienced players play under their real rank today. There is no hidden mechanic, those players are better than you if they beat you consistently, get over it.

20 years playing but you have never seen a 3 on the river that gave your opponent a full house (should I call it a boat, you know the lingo, right?) and the pot. How about the guy that is on the big blind with a 9/2, nobody raises, and he gets a 9/9/2 on the flop? Ohhhh those RNG gods....
But Hearthstone is a lucky game, right? You have been playing card games for 20 years, we can talk about other games if you are interested, or you can spend this time learning how to play.
By the way, if you used HearthstoneTracker or something else like that and actually posted stats, people here would be able to help you improve. As it is, you are just complaining and bashing a game that we all like :D
Yes there is luck AKA RNG, the skill comes from making decisions with the cards your dealt and analyzing risks and odds. People who fail to understand these concepts, which is a large majority of the playerbase, will always cry about RNG. Learning how to mulligan correctly is one of the most important skills to learn in this game. Some games are decided at the mulligan stage, learning matchups, what advantages to press what disadvantages to try and avoid is key to minimizing the role of RNG in any given matchup. These are essential skills in any strategy setting, not just card games.
I think if the game starts to give us cards that let us fetch certain ones people will complain less. Right now you could run a good deck, with plenty of draw, and get through 24 of your cards and never get the key cards you are looking for. A few cards are strong enough, there is just no substitute for them.
Most TCG games I've played have a way to fetch that swipe, or fireball or flamestrike. Or rotate the cards in my hand if it is really bad. Warlock does have that demons card, even though it's also a little rng. You can manipulate it at least by running only a few demons. *I think it should cost less honestly* At least it shows they kind are thinking of that mechanic and hopefully it will show up more in the future.
I still say that the starting hand needs to be more cards. Having lots of options to play in your hand is great instead of always "turn 1 pass" Since you can't afford to run any 1 drops each card is too valuable. Or further, usually there is only one play at the start and the choice is only do or don't do it. They would need to tweek a few cards for handsize balance, but that's fine.
Actually the game is entertaining to watch because it has so much luck involved. To see that rag miss all 7 of their board and hit to the face, or same for a 1 shot kill knife juggler. Or out of one 8/8 and 6 1/1's the sylvanis takes the 8/8. Or a topdeck out of 20 cards for a lone in deck fireball for the win past 3 taunts. Certainly not skill since the odds are crazy, and likely the player didn't deserve to win, but very fun to watch.

Who is the system favoring then? Does Blizzard feed a list of players who they want to win into the computer data banks and give them the good draws?
Also, many of the RNG components of Hearthstone were added because as it was, the game didn't have ENOUGH RNG compared to paper card games.

"if that goes 3 matches in a row, i have my doubts". So, what, you expect it to alternate between working out lucky and working out unlucky? Doesn't sound very random to me. That sounds like a cheating computer. Streaks of good or bad luck? That's random.
And why do you think the "notorious streamers" are luckier than you? Is this more tinfoil hat madness? Blizzard tweaks the RNG to favour them because, what, they provide publicity for the game?
And lastly.. it's ironic that you claim to have hit rank 5 every season, but still think (a) the game is all luck, and (b) you're unlucky. Trust me, if that was really true, you would never have gotten close to rank 5. Sounds to me like you're actually a pretty good player whose bad attitude it holding him back from being even better.
Some observations i'm making here:

May be some RNG but more skill based, when some people can get 75%+ win rate I wouldn't call it RNG

Mad bombers are the worst. I can play one and the enemy will have a 1 hp minion and it'll completely miss it.
They enemy will play one and need to do an exact amount of damage to one or more of my minions and always get what he needs.
