I have recently unboxed Reno and I wanted to make a Highlander mage deck. I made one and i havent really played any games with it. I want to see peoples opinions on this deck first. Here it is:
Your deck isn't bad, it looks like a solid mid-range type deck but I don't think that's a good strategy for mage. You don't have enough good minions to pressure enough, before the nerfs reno mage won in 2 different scenarios:
Your opponent was playing a board heavy deck and you just kept clearing their minions while slowly running them out of stuff and developing very few minions to the point where they simply had no fuel.
Playing an early galaxy with just allowed you to spit disgusting amounts of tempo that no deck could realistically beat. That's the reason Reno Mage curve was so heavy, even if you didn't get all your expensive minions discounted it was still back breaking for almost every deck that couldn't kill mage on the spot (Rogue pretty much).
You obviously don't have the luna out anymore and on the first one you still win because of running opponents out of cards. So you need to start running some finishers cause your mid-range gameplan will probably not work on the long run. Stuff like Giant + Conjuring is still solid, it isn't as good as before but still performs and is one of mage's best options. Pyroblast + Sandwich is a sweet combo and you can do half of their health if you have a fireball on top of that. Sandwich gets better when you start thinking about puzzle box as well, and puzzle box gets better it you think about tortollian (You should be running all those). Also Antonio is super scary for any deck, it has soft taunt and opponent usually dump a lot of resources to kill it fast and even if it gives you 1 or 2 fireballs is more than worth it. Also keysmith is a hell of a card.
I know your title says cheaper but it's not a good idea, Reno mage is not in a good spot rn and if you start cutting its powerful expensive cards just to make it more affordable I don't think you'll get good results tbh.
