this isn't a troll thread ;) My five year old daughter absolutely loves this game and actually wins regularly in casual and ranked games (finished rank 19 with me rarely helping her at all). So far we have been building a murloc deck for the most part, and she wants to play it as the warloc because she got Lord Jaraxus in a pack as well. I don't really think he synergises with it that well but whatever. Is there a class that would work better for a cheap murloc deck (read better core spells and some card draw maybe). Or is there a non murloc deck you would recommend that is easy/straightforward for a 5 year old to play.
If she likes Murlock, then by all means let her go for it. It's a solid deck that's easy to learn and use, and it seems like she's already done a good job of learning and using it.
Warlock is a good class to use with Murlocs because the hero power helps you draw more, and no Jaraxxus doesn't synergize well with Murlocs but if she's having fun then that's all that matters. Other than that I'd say Shaman and Druid would work with Murlocs as well because they have Bloodlust and Savage Roar respectively and those cards coupled with a few Murlocs on the field can result in a good burst finish.
Firstly I want to say that this is awesome :-) It must be great fun for her and also huge development. I must share this with 2 of my friends which are hovering around rank 15 and are 30y old :D
I think decks like watcher druid might be pretty suitable for her, its really very easy to play and straightforward but its fun and viable anyway. Druid is also viable class for murlocs, you can create kind-of-aquarium deck with murlocs and some druid cards or find some (ive seen few back in beta days..)
There really aren't any decks easier than Murlocs/Zoo, so sticking with that is fine. The one issue I see with her playing Warlock is not knowing when to tap/not tap, because it's the only hero power that hurts you. But if she's been playing it, it should be fine 'cause it does work well with Murlocs.
Murloc shaman would be a great class for her. It's rather simple to play and very cheap card wise. If shaman isn't something that she likes then druid murloc mage (yes this is real) is a possible solution (not overly great, but very simple).
sadly I am one of those 3x year olds at rank 15, but I claim that is because I am mostly trying to farm gold/dust in the arena until I can craft my first legendary and put together a better deck.
For her development I think it is pretty cool. She doesn't know how to read yet (not in Kindergarten until Sept) but she does now recognize words like Taunt that are in bold. She has memorized what most cards in the game do...her main problem is playing around secrets since she can't go to the wiki and figure out how to avoid or proc their secrets properly. She hasn't really ever been taught math, other than simple stuff you do while driving or whatever, yet she usually figures out a good way to trade minions and goes for the face when there are only bad trades
I don't like her playing Shaman because the full weight of the penalty that overload is not fully comprehended, but she does love bloodlust, I guess Druid has just about as good a skill in savage roar and other good buffs.
I am thinking I should save her dust for another murloc warleader and the rest of the murlocs before anything else really then see which class cards I get while doing that to determine her best deck. The main problem with a 5 yr olds account is that they don't play consistently enough to maximise quest gold...also she thinks all the cards are good and often adds random crap into her deck that I have to keep editing out so she can win ;)
She is pretty happy she earned the rainbow card back, and hopefully she can get to rank 15 this season like I did last one ;)
What about an aggro warrior deck in the vein of Reynad's F2P legend deck? (I think some people call the archetype Avalanche Warrior.) I've always found them pretty straightforward and fun, and getting to use weapons would add a new dimension.
I would personally suggest the Safari Hunter deck made by Reynad. It is very dust effecient (Under 1000 Dust) and easy to learn the combos (Ex: Turn 3 coin Snapjaw turn 4 Houndmaster or the Hunters Mark-Stonetusk Boar combo.)

Your 5 year old daughter could probably play a zoo deck to legendary.
