Hello! I have been thinking of making an adventure for a while now, but I have dreaded the size of the task at hand, so I decided to make it public! This means that anyone can participate and add their own suggestions. The actual adventure will be posted here on the OP as it comes along. The time per each step is vague, and not set yet anyways. We are at the first step as of now.
Here is our to-do list for now:
Step 1: Theme. It must be warcraft related. The ones I have been pondering on are Karazhan, a Burning Legion themed one (Making warlocks OP naturally.), Elemental one (Consisting of Throne of the Four Winds, Firelands, Deepholme and Abyssal Plane.) Other possibilities would be something like Warlords of Draenor, Icecrown Citadel, etc. Our theme has been decided on and it will be Karazhan.
Step 2: Bosses. Deciding on which bosses we are doing, making the hero portraits, Hero Powers and the encounters themselves ready.
Icecrown Citadel would be pretty awesome, would also be a great point to introduce the DK class if they ever plan on making one, but with naxxaramas done it'd feel kinda like they're doing something they've already done. I do like the concept of Karazhan, they've got a little bit of everything, not to mention the chess fight would be awesome game-play wise!

My new thread for cards i've started making since the 6th of Feb-> [Mod Edit: No TinyURL Links Please]
I am mostly inclined to do Karazhan also, as like xervian said, it has a bit of everything. There is also established art for Karazhan and it is quite possibly the one to most tickle people's sense of nostalgia.
Hearthstone is a card game heavily tied into warcraft, so on default, the adventure will be WoW related. But well, more suggestions for the adventure? Karazhan seems to be the most prevalent one, but we need more people on this!
I actually have an Imperator card ready on my custom card workshop. The Nexus sounds cool also, but would it have enough content? Perhaps we could have The Nexus and Obsidian/Ruby Sanctum adventure?
Well M_Surge, welcome aboard. Karazhan seems at least now to be the one everyone is interested in, will wait a while though for more people to stumble on this thread... Though I got to say, I am intrigued by Ulduar as it is one of my favorite raids.. Throne of Thunder might be nice as it also has more than one theme going on. (Got a card for Lei Shen ready in my thread already, also.)
Hey guys, just letting you know that I really like the idea of this thread! The only problem is that I don't know the lore about Karazhan so I will be reading/watching lore of Karazhan and will probably get started on it soon!
To give some advice, make sure to write down every idea you or others have. I find that some of my most interesting ideas are from random points in the day, and not when I'm focusing on the card creating process. Also, the thread system on Hearthpwn can be difficult to use, so I recommend that you put any ideas in a Google doc or other location, for easier searching and cataloging. I generally use this format for cards(when using a spreadsheet):
Class/Neutral - Name - Rarity - Type(minion/spell) - Cost- Race - Attack - Health - Card Text - Notes
For an example, here is a unfinished expansion I tried to work on a few months ago, near the start of my fan-creation period:
I've found having ideas stored somewhere and having an occasional "work" day (spending a few constant hours) consisting of fleshing out the cards and mechanics seems to be the easiest way to develop cards.
Also, I would recommend using a Warcraft location or raid that you fondly remember with detail as an adventure location, preferably one that you actually completed. You generally understand the emotions of fighting certain bosses and their mechanics better, and that transfers pretty well to cards in some cases.
Thank you for your input garglei, will keep this in mind, I am an avid wow player and when I will get sober (I am finnish after all,and I just had my 20th B-day.) I will go through your post.
A Fin whose sobering up, eh? See you in seven weeks! (I feel qualified to make this statement as a semi-Estonian who has "tasted" the Finnish lifestyle a few too many times.)
Karazhan seems fine, though I like Ulduar or Throne of Thunder better to be honest. However, since two of the bosses of Ulduar are already cards, I'm not so sure... How about a poll?

The Nexus could be cool! Got alot to work with there, and who doesn't like spellcaster shenanigans :p
Highmaul is my third suggestion, mainly because Imperator Mar'gok would be perfect for doing the little bits where the final boss talks to you haha.

I'm currently in the process of making my own custom adventure(see my sig below), but I'd be down for a collaborative one.
For places, I'm all for doing a Karazhan or Icecrown adventure. We could also do Ulduar or Throne of Thunder.

Yeah, I think the theme will either be Ulduar or Karazhan... Post your votes!

Kharazhan!

I'd say Karazhan. You could do an Opera Room section, with the different plays:
Dorothee (Hero power to summon Tito) and the Wizard of Oz crew.
Romulo and Juliana (no ideas here)
The Big Bad Wolf (Devour: deals 2 damage to a card)
The Stage Manager (Costumes!: summon a random 1 or 2 mana minion)
I don't know about the fifth however.

Right, lets lock our theme as Karazhan? Anyone opposing this? It seems to be easily the most popular one.
